Inflated the $200m to make it seem shockingly high, then deflated the $20m to make it seem like it isn't that valuable to get ALPA to settle for less is my guess.

Reportedly, HT said in a recent Velvet that the previous month was $23M in 23M7 costs. (In a shoulder month, no less)

That’s second hand from me, but someone who heard it firsthand posted it here and FB.

I believe a similar rumor was that Oct was $10M, so if that’s accurate, it’s getting worse, not better.

Don't forget that $23m also is likely just what is being paid in the *recorded* 23M7 penalty. We first have to assume every time they skip coverage, they are appropriately paying pilots who are harmed. I'm not convinced it's a 100% rate. What they are absolutely leaving off are less easily quantifiable effects like coverage being delayed long enough that a slip that would have gone to a reserve or as a WS is being covered at a QS.

They miss a lot of 23M7 in the logs. In my experience, if nobody takes the rotation as a QS and it gets No Op to reroute a pilot its less than 50/50 that rotation ends up in the 23M7 logs.

Thunderstorms in AUS. Good thing we don't have a base there.

Looks like the SE is gonna get some weather this weekend. Should be fun to watch it meltdown.

Oh I agree to that, you just like to refuse to see others points of view unless it aligns with yours.

heard it firsthand somewhere else. That’s the number she’s peddling. Along with moving flying to RJ’s because our volunteer rates are so low…..

Honestly have no idea which of the 100 threads about the 4th floor nonsense we’ve endured over the past two years to post this in, but

Jason Crude in Crew Planning has been officially forced out. They eliminated his position and basically forced him into retirement. Apparently HT’s job is secure now that they’ve got their scapegoat.

Apparently they’ve brought in a guy from the OCC with 30 years plus to unravel this mess. Just this week.
