absolutely not. even if you cut our 270 in half, it’s close to double what our peers get in accrued sick time each year. even if you never get to the verification threshold each year, you can use far more than our peers ever accrue.

any accrual system will result in far lower amounts of available sick time. rather than accrue it, use the time you have now.

yep-allowing it to accrue will
simply force people to fly sick. no gracias.

I'm impressed by your buzzwords but I didn't ask you to argue just if you were informed of the negotiation. Y or N?

-congratulations on another successful dodge, you are quite good at this

Oh please no. We already have enough pilots that fly "with alergies." This would just incentivize even more sick flying.

was there ever a rule that one could not use telehealth for sick notes? I know doctors on demand has allowed you to talk to both doctors and qhcp’s for near a decade, and I used them at an old shop without any pushback.

Yes, there was. And it was a problem, now resolved.

If we allow it to accrue and then pay out later people will fly sick

I don’t like them giving us 270 and then harassing us to use all 270. But with Galileo app it should be easy to appease them with doctors notes now for any complaint- so it just costs me 20 bucks to get a note for my sinus pressure.

It sounds to me like the company is worried we will use sick time to modify our schedule- to be fare- I am sure there is a large contingent of people that do that.

The solution would be to have so many APDs available to a pilot that there would be no reason to call in sick to a rotation when it could be dropped with an APD several days in advance giving the company ample time to fill the rotation with a long call reserve

Easy problem to solve.

The problem is they want us not using our sick leave AND working. They justify it as something to combat the sick leave "abusers," but it seems to simply be a cost savings tactic to get more of the group to use a little less sick. The so called abusers will "abuse" it either way, so they're not stopping anything for them. But if you can get a larger portion of the group to call in just a little less, it could be a huge savings.

More IVD instances would be a helpful add. The extra days we got don't really do anything if you don't have more instances to use them.

The entirety of the rest of the company has... say it with me... PTO! Why are we trying to reinvent the wheel?
