I didn't serve My brother did (,F-15E pilot retired after 23 years) believe me heard it all. He also had choice words about Aspin, Perry, Cohen, Panetta, Gates and Hagel.

Also we're negotiating with Cuba right now World's gonna be a different place soon - you can hang on to the past paradigm or you can embrace a new future. I for one look forward to the new future

An Iran without the ayatollahs and a liberated Cuba. Venezuela coming back to the fold. It's a new time.

Crude oil prices roughly at $60/barrel over the past year. Now creeping up to $98/barrel.

Wat mean?

Probably not great.

Future bookings (unknown) drive future hiring.

Any rumors on total pilots being hired this year? That would be a tell.

(On a darker note, “You’re not really an airline pilot until you’ve been divorced once and furloughed twice.” Or is it the other way around?)

I think it's too slow burning yet to make strategic decisions.

/S/ The drawdown could be so severe that with full hiring this year we might see a blue day in ATL320 this summer. /S/

FWIW, United CEO is saying bookings are great:

Of course, I suppose that could be everybody locking in tickets before the price goes up…

at least we all know what other fun board you’re on!

I wonder if on a depressing note, with the current trend of people doing buy now pay later options if bookings will stay fine till massive general public bankruptcies.

Be helpful if our k-12 education system would take basic finance. My last SEA once told me “that old joke about “I can’t believe I’m out of money in my account, I still have checks left.” - I hear it from first term junior enlisted at least once a week.’

Basic financial literacy is important.
