Sentient AI... "hey brother can you spare a dime?"

eventually... Can you help out a fellow American!

Na it wasn't meant as a payment to the hotel for a service rendered, but as a gesture of appreciation to the jack of all tradesman running around the hotel busting their knuckles up fixing XYZ.

Ha, thankfully it didn't get to that point. That would bring in $50, if I couldn't locate a wire hangar to fix that myself.

In other words, doing their job that they're paid for. If housekeeping had reported the inoperative toilet when they cleaned it, then that same person would have come to fix the same problem.

Exceeding the limitations on a toilet doesn't always mean it's an issue of faulty equipment or improper maintenance. If the user made a miscalculation that requires follow-up assistance beyond the means of the tools and/or skills at their disposal, I'd consider the employee assigned the task as going above and beyond.

I swear, I did not clog or over-speed this commode, I just didn't. It was just hard broke and I didn't bring my wrench set

Sometimes, in situations such as these, it's really not anyone's fault except the designer's.

IOW, "Low flush" toilets create their own set of problems.

I was curious about the generational % breakdown for the group.

It's a Gen X / Millennial airline right now.

If the two wanted to vote against each other as blocks, the boomers would be the swing group.

Gen Z statistically insignificant.

(If age driven voting blocks existed at DALPA. I hope to god they never do.)

This is the reason I go to hotels and not VRBO. The $500/night covers the maintenance/cleaning required. I don't hang towel on the rack either. They are tossed in a pile on the floor.

Yes, yes I do. Businesses should charge what they need to charge in order to pay their employees a proper wage. Expecting their customers to pay their wages out of the goodness of their hearts is BS.

I've been to a (very) few restaurants in the US that do this, and make it clear on their menu that they do not accept tips. I love them for that.

If everybody stopped tipping, that would force the change, but people are too illogically married to giving people extra money for just doing their job.
