Leine,
What are your thoughts about this TA making the RAH scope abuse part of our section 1...thus it won't be an abuse anymore. It will be part of the way DAL does business. Thoughts? Carl |

I never said DAL didn't. But not one person who wants to fully recapture flying has produced a logical, structured plan to do so. If it was as easy as walking in and taking it back, don't you think it'd be done already?
I honestly don't believe we have even asked. What if it were as simple as putting together a plan and offering that plan up as part of negotiations? The suggestion contained in my post above is as good a place to start as any and it can easily be done -- quickly if they/we wanted to. Northwest had Compass up and running so fast, it made my head spin. |

Aren't they actively trying to unload Frontier as well? Oh right. We bought cheap 717s. Never mind.

1. Stop giving away MORE of our flying 2. Vote this TA down 3. Negotiate all NEW over 50 seat RJ's to be operated at Delta (even if it means some pilots will think they're on a B scale). 4. Understand that any alleged lease forgiveness of 50 seat RJ's based on buying new larger RJ's would not care who operated the aircraft...only that they are bought. 5. Wait until 2025 when the last older RJ burns its last Jet A. 6. Mainline flying fully recaptured. But pay particular note of step 1 and 2. Carl |

Carl RAH scope abuse is ALREADY a way we do business because we currently allow it. I don't like it one bit, but it doesn't change the fact that it is currently status quo. By recognizing it as a problem, and codifying it in the TA, we now have specific language to prevent this particular cancer from spreading (ie TransStates, Skywest, etc) in the future. RAH is allowed to stay because it is status quo. The holding company language is clearly a good thing because it shows we learned from our mistakes and will not be burned the same way again in the future. Essentially we've plugged a leak in the boat. If you're about to suggest that we demand Delta pull out of it's agreements immediately with Chautauqua and Shuttle America then you're not living in the real world. Unfortunately, we were end-run once in the past and are now living with those consequences ala RAH. What we do going forward is all we can control. Awaiting the incoming :p |

I honestly don't know either newK. But it gets tiresome hearing guys scream SCOPE RECAPTURE and then hear SILENCE when asked how. Maybe we just need you to walk in and get it done!! :D
