YOu also have to be Theater Qualified on the ER. Africa, Asia, South America, and Europe. Not to mention Special Airport qualified. Confused yet?

But only if you are a Captain. If you are an FO, you only need a qual'd Captain, or if you are a NQP FO, then you can qual the Captain. Or a Line Check Airman can do it. But if you are an unqualified first officer you are good to go with a qualified Captain, but not if it's raining. Then you should divert. Depending on the airport.

None of which applies to the Douglas fleet. :)

Correct. The rub comes with whether the trip was in the domestic or the ER bid package. The company cannot call out a domestic guy for a ER category trip and vice versa without paying premium pay to a couple guys. The domestic guy also has the restriction of not doing augmented trips etc. There's more to it but that's basically it.

It is kinda like refinancing your house when the interest rates go down .... .

Gulfstream is also where the captain from the comair crash went, the crew from pinnacle 3701, and the crew from the pinnacle Milwaukee off road adventure. So yeah, pretty good track record but know one knows because its called silver now. Just like value jet and AirTran

The captain of Comair 5191 was not from Gulfstream.

The FO was.

For what it's worth DAL is the first US airline to implement an SMS program. If you don't know what that is, go to the Corporate Safety website on Deltanet and start following the links to read about SMS. Top notch stuff if you know anything about safety.

Thanks I'll check it out sometime..

Does anyone have any other opinions on the candidates running for C44 office. I do not know them personally and find the letters typical and boilerplate (except for DN who is now getting my vote) I lurk this board and post infrequently but I would like to hear some of your opinions. Thank you

Well one candidate for Captain Rep is a notorious "Boy Captain" from MCO's Express operation.

He basically never flew FO and was a Delta Captain before he was 30.
How can anyone who's had a career like that relate to the feeling of stagnation the majority of us feel?

Oh, and he used to be on the union message boards talking about how Date of Hire is the "fair" way to integrate seniority in a merger.

With all the merger talk looming at Delta (Alaska, whatever), I don't want to elect anyone that endorses DOH!

Hey thanks, I have found that's what you have to do to get through it. Can't control it but whatever is going to happen has already been decided you know? Maybe on my next spin Ill hit the million dollar one!
