Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Here is a good question. What was the great rush for to get a contract done???? It seemed that it was critical to get it done so that some big deal would come after. What's the scoop?? Were we just sold another bag of B S from the union??

You may want to review the discussions on maintenance timelines and aircraft purchases for some specifics as to "why."
actually, one of the more interesting GA pricing ive seen here in ATL was one particular instructors rate of $175 per hour.
The last time I was instructing, a few lifetimes ago, my rate was $75/hr, flight or ground. Half days (2 hours ground 2 hours flight) were $250, and full days (X2) were $500. Cash or check, payable at time of service, just like your Doctor's office.
Did I have people that balked? Yea, lots, but I didn't want them as students anyway. Stayed as busy as I wanted.

LZU is consistently over the top spendy. Their fuel is almost always at least a buck and a half more expensive then the surrounding airports. Heck, you can even get cheap SS fuel and free parking at PDK.
Check out by Gainesville, Jackson Co or Winder.
Stay away from anything with a G1000. Stick to steam, and you should be able to find a 172 in the $100 range with a minimal checkout.
Fuel is spendy, but the real expense is commercial insurance. It's not just the end operator (the rental place), but everyone he does business with...the FBO, MX, MX vendors, the airport, etc. It all compounds. It spiked after 9/11, and never really came back down. It was masked for a little while gas got cheap a few years ago, but I think it's the real cost driver.

I'm based out of PDK. I thought about renting out of there as well but it's worth the drive for me to go to KFFC and put gas in my buddy's Christen Eagle. I live on the north side of ATL and it's a solid hour (in good traffic!) but totally worth it.
I still can't believe I paid $45/hr for a 152 and $20/hr for instructor. I don't know how guys do it now. My flight training combined was less than 13k. That was in 2000-2001. Not too long ago!

Instrucor fee dropped from $40/hr ( I only got 15 of that) to $36/hr
I use to be able to rent a T-34 at the Navy Flying Club in Memphis for $65 an hour wet. They had 2 at that price back around 2000-2001 but AD's and other mx problems have since grounded them. Was a good cheap run for a while though.
Maybe that is why they were so cheap...oh well

my kids love barney, Jake and the neverland pirates, doc mcstuffins and team umi zoomi.
I'm okay with that.
they really are hooked on breaking stuff and recreating tornadoes, ambulance trips to the hospital, blocks, sudoku, toy cars, this red car in the backyard, calligraphy, hair bows, things that aren't toys ( that's their favorite) and this massive $30 teddy bear at costco. they also like when they can climb all over dada.

Fun fact: If you type "Do a barrel roll" in a Google search the whole page will spin.
