Ding, Ding, Ding. We have a winner. I would bid it. Getting it would be another story. Unless you are talking about adding positions....

One or the other.

Kinda looks like those that are on equipment that is being moved won't have a chance to bid into the equipment that is replacing it. Then when we get the SOC, we'll have to wait for vacancies to bid back into our old bases because technically you won't be considered displaced because that will happen on the next AE or APA.

Well, I see it as a new base, but a few "well informed" individuals on this forum have stated that the N bases are not new for the South and the South Bases are not new to the North.

Now this is prior to SOC, so we shall see how they deal with it.
FWIW, it is not in the AE computer yet, so it may not come to fruition, it is just what I was told late last week.

Part of the reason I was asking about Crash Pads.......

We had a CA at 9e that was originally from Italy- super nice guy, heavy accent. Apparently they were on approach being vectored around MSP one day, and they were marvelling over all the lakes.

CA goes "Wow! There must be 10,000 lakes around here!"

FO: "uh yeah.. that's probably why they call it that..."

CA: "call it what?"

FO: "you do know MN is called the land of 10,000 lakes, right?"

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Now there is an idea. I never understood why CAL kept that base.

You're right. There is some good info in the current addition. ALVs are going down after the summer and they are discussing options to deal with the excess pilots; multi-month SILs, job sharing, being generous with LOAs. He mentions the displacement bid planned for next month and interestingly says there may be a 765 base in NY but not until next summer.

He didn't mention wearing your hat, but he did write a lot about the beacon.

When does per diem actually start and end? is it at report or block out? I looked in the PWA...it only talks about out of base pilots. Thanks in advance

That is what I am told. The 765 is planned to move to JFK. That will cause some disruptions in ATL.
Also his numbers are on the short end. Really 22 or so months with a lot not taken in to account. In reality with taking the seats out, it is more like 40 months, or so.
