1. I've heard of guys being sent home for a few weeks after indoc before coming back for the rest of their training. During this hiatus, are you still being paid? IOW, do you still get the $2700/month even though they send you home for part of it or is it prorated?

2. I understand you don't get line pay until you're done with OE. On the 76ER, does that mean once you finish the domestic OE portion or does it kick in only after TOE?

Thanks.
1. You receive training pay while you sit idle.

2. You will be converted to regular pay when you complete domestic OE. However, traing pay is paid "up to date" while regular pay is payed "after the fact" so there maybe a month where yo don't receive pay. For example you are on training pay until March 31. Your March 31 paycheck will pay you current as of March 31. You start regular pay April 1, but you are not payed for April pay until May so your May 1 paycheck will be part of your garuntee for April and your May 15th paycheck will be the rest of your garuntee + any overages + perdiem. I was payed training pay during that off month anyway, but now I pay back $300 per paycheck for 9 paychecks.

*For all of those who are already here and not sure when you should have been converted to regular pay; look on ecrew at your personal data and it will show when your conversion date was.

Hope that helps

Glad to have you here

I'm sure that quote was a joke, but actually the C17, C5, KC10, and KC135 guys are a shoe in to get through 7ER training because they have tons of experience driving heavies and crossing the pond. Infact I was the relief dude on a new hire's (C17 driver) TOE the other day and it was a walk in the park for him once he got past ramp control. Don't take offense by it; it is what it is. Depending on the results of this next AE we could see a lot more new hires on the 7ER so we will need to pick up quit a few more of these guys and gals.

Good luck

Thanks for clarifying that. I understand the deal with pay lag. It's the same way where I'm at. The first pay check is for what you're due, the middle check is for what you did last month.

That tax refund deal looks like it might come in handy.

AC,
I guess I'm too new to follow where it was that you owed money back. Were you not supposed to be paid while sitting?

I'm just still trying to follow how pay is done. I understand it is like you fly for the month of April...get paid 1 May for Apr's guarantee flying...then get paid 15 May for anything over guarantee flying as well as any extras. I guess the overlap is where I'm confused. How does the training fit in?

The money that he is paying back is from the training pay that he continued to receive after IOE. His training pay should have terminated after his IOE, and then the next month's paychecks should have paid him for the first month's flying. That's where the month with no pay comes in - between IOE completion and regular pay start.

My domestic check flight was on the 24th, but my conversion date on ecrew is the 31st. Is that something worth asking the company about?

You may actually get a check every two weeks depending on when you finish IOE. I finished on the 3rd of the month. I got a check on the 30th prior to completing IOE that was for training. My check on the 15th was for three days of training plus the per diem I earned while on IOE. Basically it was a few hundred bucks. My check on the 30th was then a flight advance for the next month. I actually only got one poor check because I finished towards the first of the month. If you finish around the middle of the month it would be worse.

Thanks Otto

I was paid for December twice. My training pay should have stopped on Nov. 31 when I completed OE. It did not and I received training pay in December even though I was flying the line. My Jan. paychecks were for my flying in December; so essentially big D paid me twice in December. When I informed them of the error they let me deduct $300 from the next 9 paychecks to pay them back.

Hope that helps

It won't matter. 31st is the beginning of the bid month. If that makes sense.

It may make a difference, but I'm not sure what the rule is on that one. I was done Nov. 30 and my conversion date was Nov. 31. I felt no need to split RCHs on that one.
