I bid reserve for Nov (haven't been on reserve for a long time) and am already at 80+ RAW score.
I understand this puts me into the second bucket. But what exactly does this mean? Is it safe to assume that the scheduling will leave me along untill all the other dudes (on the same days on) catch up to 80+? Thanks |

It means any other reserve in the same grouping of days who is still in RAW Group 1 must be assigned a trip before you.
Example Coming off your last X day you and a pilot senior to you are both available for 4 days. There is a 4 day in open time. Your RAW is 84. The pilot senior to you has a RAW of 43. Even though he is senior to you, becuase he has yet to reach RAW Group 2, he must be assigned the trip first. You'll get the 0700 report that gets paid 20 hours and overnights in god-forsaken places, because the guy who had it didn't realize how sick he was until the night before when he looked at the trip and realized how sick it was making him. Don't get me wrong - the buckets are a nice idea, but in small categories you if you don't get a trip, you go on SC, where you might or might not get a trip. But I've gotten some nice trips on SC too - calling out sick with less than 12 hours means no WS usually, so they go to reserves. |
I noticed there are 2 options for the DPMP, the DPMP & DPMP OOA(Out Of Area). From an enrollment standpoint, are they the same option? I don't see any other option besides DPMP. It appears premiums, deductibles, max out of pocket, etc are identical. The difference appears to be the percentage covered once the annual deductible is met, depending on whether you go to a doctor in network or OOA.

Then, because he was already assigned a trip, you'll get put on SC. He gets a cherry 4-day that reports at 1300 and does 24 hours in that time.

By the time PBS got to me I knew I would be working 12/24-12/25.
So I did not even ask for those days off!! I just said ok if I have to fly I want these trips!! Well it says my very first choice was pulled during a reshuffle. Instead of being with relatives over 12/24. I have two trips one ends too late to get home 12/24 and then I have another trip leaving on 12/25! Perfect if I lived in base! But the kicker! My very first trip that I wanted is still in open time! W T F?? anyone know why?? |
