One person got to drop their awarded trips before the PCS run, how do you do that? I'd like to be able to do that.

Inquiring minds would like to know?!?! I have a couple of drop request in and if denied (most likely) I'll be even more vocal. Maybe you should question someone in the know?

Lots of things happen, like dropping your entire line when you go out on a medical like I did about 2 years ago. Things happen, as I ended up with a 51 hour line after dropping a trip on the swap board.

There goes another quarter million .... Guess I am glad we did not drop a new CF-34 in the Ocean on the way to Belize.

The FAA is proposing a $275,000 civil penalty against Pinnacle Airlines of Memphis for allegedly operating a Bombardier CRJ900 on 11 flights without all required parts fitted. According to the FAA, Pinnacle mechanics failed to replace a part required in the approved aircraft maintenance manual when they replaced the aircraft’s right engine. A source close to the Pinnacle flight crew told AIN on condition of anonymity that the missing part was the second engine mount used to hold the powerplant in place.

On a leg between Atlanta and Belize, the source said, Pinnacle’s dispatch team ordered the crew to return the aircraft to Atlanta with no reason given. Because of deteriorating weather in Atlanta, the crew suggested a different diversion point, but was told the landing airport needed to be a Pinnacle maintenance base. The crew landed safely at Knoxville, Tenn. The crew did not learn the specifics of the maintenance issue until after landing.

The 11 flights took place on Oct. 25, 26 and 27, 2010.

That would have made a splash. Can passengers sue? If so, do they sue Delta? So when they say we couldn't fly as cheaply as the lowest bidder regional airline, does that include lawsuits because of things done outside of their direct control while transporting their passengers?

Maybe, I get what it is about this Pinnacle thing you don't like, you see it as Delta pilots are on the path to just becoming one of many suckling...

It seems you ( 42 posts ) come here when ALPA has political problems deliberately post in such a way as to introduce false issues to distract from the malfeasance of your political friends. ( like your bringing up the RJDC when Dan Ford and Ken Cooksey never dreamed of trying to lock the Delta MEC out of the room like Lee Moak just did to the Delta pilots ... we Delta pilots were completely taken for granted ... not even a "how do you do?" )

A man of integrity looks past the politicians to the real issues. We hope ALPA and Delta will both be here long after our brief time on the stage has passed. The more important issues involve the governance of our union so that it remains an ongoing entity.

So, what office do you currently hold on behalf of our association?

This is puzzling Bar. On one hand you're correct in stating that the most serious of our problems is the governance of our union. On the other hand, you seem to believe that the reason it's so important is to ensure ALPA remains an ongoing entity. Whether ALPA remains an ongoing entity is way down on the list of importance. The reason resolving our governance issues is so important is because the lack of governance and adherence to policy is causing the dues paying members to be ill-served. Any "entity" that behaves this way shouldn't be an entity...much less an ongoing one. It only deserves ongoing status if their desire to represent exceeds their desire for self-serving survival.

Lots of possible reasons for that; a sudden illness, a scheduled surgery conflict, sudden mil. leave, etc.
