I knew my flight time when I got hired at Delta and I can see my total hours since working at Delta. If I ever get furloughed, I won't be flying so I really don't care to have it all in perfect order like I did before getting hired.

7.62/.308 makes for heavy expensive to shoot gun that is not near as accurate in that caliber as many of the excellent bolt action tactical rifles available. I'd ask what it's purpose is for other than just having one? In that caliber it is no longer a practical carbine which is the AR's strong point and other designs should be considered IMO.
+1 Heavier plus more recoil. Much better platforms for that caliber IMO. |

This is the best of both worlds...more West Coast flying and done organically. If these rumors are true, which I believe they are, I think it will only be short term. This seems to be a shot across the bow of AK to get them to step in line. Hopefully they don't and we can add even more West flying. That would be good for the LA folks and those of us bumped out of slc that want to be West. I also heard mgmt is thinking about placing a narrow body in SEA. Probably all pie in the sky but one can dream.

From JG at LAX visit. Paraphrasing-West coast build is now focus (NYC heavy lifting is done). More self feed in Sea and LAX. Limited Interviews in late 13 for flow throughs with classes beginning early 14. Hiring full force early 14 continuously for the foreseeable future. Need 50 per month by mid to late 14 just to fill the 717s...plus more as the retirements kick in.

OT to Carl, did you do another call spread on the vix? Looks like you missed it by a week. The vix futures are real close to backwardation and a bigger spike should be coming. I got stopped out of SVXY, and am long the 77.5 puts. Alraedy over 100% on those with a stop in.

I hear you. Healthy skepticism is still prudent. FWIW, LAX-BOS and LAX-ANC in June are mainline. LAX-GEG, SEA and SJC are CR9. He also said they would really like to grow more in LA but gate space is very tight.

Just looking for a little larger round, with more stopping power, for big game other than the .223. I use a .30-06 now for deer season, and would use it for elk/moose too, if I were ever luck enough to draw a tag. Just bought my fiancee a .243 (100gr round is enough for her) to come hunting with me next fall, and was looking for a 30-caliber round in the AR too.
That's all, thanks. :) GJ |

My bad. I'll tone down the "World Coming to an End" rhetoric, a little! :) Believe it or not, that was before I had my coffee for the morning too! Maybe that's the reason why?

Wide bodies
Alright, here goes. This is from an old friend at Boeing. Delta wants 10 777-300ER's. Boeing is only willing to sell them at a price too high for Delta. Boeing offered 11 or so 747-400's that are in perfect shape at a low price from their division that handles lease/default situations. Delta said they're not interested because they want the 777-300ER. Boeing wouldn't budge on 777 price, and Delta wouldn't budge on not wanting more 747-400's. Boeing then offered the 11 or so 747-400's at prices less than half of the 777's, and (from what he's saying), Delta accepted. He says we're absolutely stealing the airplanes.
My 2 cents. Carl |
