If I ever get furloughed, I won't be flying so I really don't care to have it all in perfect order like I did before getting hired.

I'm the same. I kept a logbook through 12K hrs. After that I stopped. When filling out the faa med form, I just guesstimated upward every 6 months. Now that we are online with it, I hope it has my prior guess for me to guess upward.:D

+1
Heavier plus more recoil. Much better platforms for that caliber IMO.

This seems to be a shot across the bow of AK to get them to step in line. Hopefully they don't and we can add even more West flying. That would be good for the LA folks and those of us bumped out of slc that want to be West. I also heard mgmt is thinking about placing a narrow body in SEA. Probably all pie in the sky but one can dream.

From JG at LAX visit. Paraphrasing-West coast build is now focus (NYC heavy lifting is done). More self feed in Sea and LAX. Limited Interviews in late 13 for flow throughs with classes beginning early 14. Hiring full force early 14 continuously for the foreseeable future. Need 50 per month by mid to late 14 just to fill the 717s...plus more as the retirements kick in.
I'm just the messenger. I make no judgement as to how truthful or reliable his forecast is... But he did say it.

Hopefully the West coast build isn't like the LGA build......50 DCI flights for every 1 mainline flight. We've also heard the same hiring forecast for the last 2 years. Always seems like 50 per month for the foreseable future any day now.....then network decides to cut another 3% and we're good for another year.

OT to Carl, did you do another call spread on the vix? Looks like you missed it by a week. The vix futures are real close to backwardation and a bigger spike should be coming. I got stopped out of SVXY, and am long the 77.5 puts. Alraedy over 100% on those with a stop in.

I didn't. I should have stayed mechanical (like I normally do), but I got cute and thought I could time the bottom a little closer. Moral?...I'm an idiot.

I hear you. Healthy skepticism is still prudent. FWIW, LAX-BOS and LAX-ANC in June are mainline. LAX-GEG, SEA and SJC are CR9. He also said they would really like to grow more in LA but gate space is very tight.

That's all, thanks. :)

I have a friend with a Remington R-25 that I have seen shoot MOA groups at 100 yds. It's not your typical AR but it's a great gun for hunting with an AR-10 platform and you can get in in 308, 243, and 7mm-08.

No problem gear. I had just had a cup of coffee, so I was just giving you a hard time. It's amazing what that stuff does to people. :D

Wide bodies

Alright, here goes. This is from an old friend at Boeing. Delta wants 10 777-300ER's. Boeing is only willing to sell them at a price too high for Delta. Boeing offered 11 or so 747-400's that are in perfect shape at a low price from their division that handles lease/default situations. Delta said they're not interested because they want the 777-300ER. Boeing wouldn't budge on 777 price, and Delta wouldn't budge on not wanting more 747-400's. Boeing then offered the 11 or so 747-400's at prices less than half of the 777's, and (from what he's saying), Delta accepted. He says we're absolutely stealing the airplanes.

My 2 cents.

Carl
