Boeing offered 11 or so 747-400's that are in perfect shape at a low price from their division that handles lease/default situations. Delta said they're not interested because they want the 777-300ER. Boeing wouldn't budge on 777 price, and Delta wouldn't budge on not wanting more 747-400's. Boeing then offered the 11 or so 747-400's at prices less than half of the 777's, and (from what he's saying), Delta accepted. He says we're absolutely stealing the airplanes.

My 2 cents.

That's OK. The market is smarter than most. Long term, traders can't outperform the market. The best hedge fund guys can't do more than 10% per annum over the long term.
BTW, where's that guy who convinced quite a few folks to sink everything they own into gold?

+1

Go with a Remington 700 chambered in .308
Legitimate long range nail driver for less than half the money.

If you want a heavier caliber AR, buy an AK. :)

The 747 line is running at overcapacity. This means they are making more planes than they are selling. In the very near term, they will have to decide to park the line for awhile or produce unsold jets.

Personally I'd like to see some 747-800s. We need the cargo and people lift in certain markets.

I'd also like to see some 777-300s. Maybe Air France will sell us some of theirs.

Big widebodies produce jobs, advancement and hiring. The only thing the 777 has over the 747 is the ultra long haul 4 man cockpit. That is more jobs, advancement and hiring.

Edit: Oh yeah one more thing. Are these replacement jets for the 787? Just kidding, the fences will be down before they show up.

Hopefully it will mean a job for the..................................

I have a friend with a Remington R-25 that I have seen shoot MOA groups at 100 yds. It's not your typical AR but it's a great gun for hunting with an AR-10 platform and you can get in in 308, 243, and 7mm-08.

Also consider the LMT MWS in 308, it has quick barrel change capability, .308, .260 and .243! I bought the OBR some time back, solid 1/2" MOA gun with 168g or 175g SMK.

He said it has already been agreed to. Just waiting for Delta to choose the actual airframes they desire in order to minimize the costs of bring them to Delta specs.

The amazing thing is that even if it happens, we'll still have less than half of the jumbo airframes that UAL/CAL has.

Hopefully the negotiate a deeply discounted BCF option at the end, what a fleet we would have for cargo.

The 747s don't have to be replacement jets for the 787 to be fNWA seats. If they were 777s they would be for original Delta.

It's almost two years before the fences come down so it would be great to get more wide bodies before then no matter which side of the fence they belong.
