Just up the street (short walk) from the Tucson layover hotel is a place called Black Weapons Armory. They have a couple nice 7.62 ARs. Good ones. Built by CMMG. $1800. I was surprised to see them in stock.

Here's the catch ---> no magazines !!! And no idea when they could get any.

5.56 ARs are around but the prices are silly right now.

And 5.56 PMAGs ? --- fugeddaboutit
The shelves were bare and the guy said everything is backordered.

Funny thing is they were doing a booming business selling these "Ban Cans". So people can bury their guns in their backyard when the feds ban or try to confiscate them.
Nothing but a painted piece of PVC pipe with stenciled lettering on them using the familiar "military" font commonly found on ammo cans, etc. They had rifle length and pistol length and various sizes from 4 inch to 10 inch with ordinary screw on plugs in the end.

About $10 worth of pipe going for $100 to $300. And people were buying them.
We are in the wrong business.

No offense and I think you were 1/2 joking but anyone who buys that and burys it in their back yard has some serious issues. :D

Thanks for the intel. I'll be down there next weekend, which by that time, they'll probably already have been sold.

Cabela's, where I purchased my AR had four on hand when I called, and an hour later when I purchased mine they only had two left. They had 30-round mags too, but were super cheap for a ridiculous price. (Plastic/composite 30-round mag for $30!!)

Been shopping for a Magpul AR for sometime, cheapest I've been able to come by was $1400-1500. The 7.62 for $1800 doesn't sound too unreasonable considering the smaller caliber is running $300 behind it.

Thanks again, fly safe.

YUP! Stock up now, because if Hussein (it's his middle name) gets his way, we'll have to defend our homes with these in the next decade.

Question is, where do you other Delta pilots get Expense Reports for Travel expenses, including meals and incidentals?

Do you have a service which prepares it for you other than Flightline?

perdiemcalc.com is another one, used it last year. It's cheaper, but you have to manually enter your overnights. I haven't had much luck with flightline. It seems tempting since they can import your schedule, but it's not work the long wait or extra cost in my opinion.

This has been fun but Toga gets quote of the week.

That's the best gift a guy can get! If you've got the 1:7 or 1:8 twist give the Sierra 77g Match Kings a try. They lob really well, minimal upset at transonic and unbelievable fragmentation inside 100y on thin skinned game.

my eyes crossed the first time I read that but that's what I get for reading this thread from the last post forward.

Putting B717s into SEA would be us poking Boeing in the eye while saying "HEY, THE BEST NARROW BODY YOU EVER MADE was a DC9!" :D

ProDiem is the best place to go. $49.00 if you buy during the pre-season sale....sometime before December. Once the year is over all you do is login and have them download your data. After that I think they are $59.00. They log into I-Crew and get all the data for you and you have the report back usually within a day. Customer service there is also great. I had my report done and ready to go by Jan 3rd this year.

Hey, what's wrong with homeschooling? We just don't want Hussein educating our kids! :)
