Does the senior pilots pref list go to quadruple digits?
542 ahead of me, 404 as first choice, bidding 744-A That's about as bad as it gets for me. :D |

There will be a lot of time off for the next several years on the 717. The volume of training will see a lot of training drops.

Wasn't it the MSP 88 base that like 60% of the list was on reserve or something for a while? Am I remembering that wrong?
Just trying to figure out if ATL 717 B would mean forced reserve, 15 leg 3-days and 20 leg 4-days and all to BHM, CHS, ROA, TYS, BNA, TLH, PNS, SAV, JAN, DAY, TRI, CRW, AGS, CSG, MGM, BHM (did I say that already?), SHV, BTR and one long leg up to PHF? :D Scambo? You in or do you have something better to do? http://25.media.tumblr.com/1f1604b8e...tn8jo1_500.gif |
Or you could fly the MD-88 that levels off 100' below the assigned altitude and then begins a rapid change to a 1000 fpm descent. :D

Some guys will get the summer off, but it won't be as widespread as is being hoped for. Still, I'm glad there are pilots who want to bid and fly the up, down, up, down domestic equipment, especially the more senior guys. Why? Because it invalidates the arguement regularly posed by DALPA that "you don't really want to fly that."
Did a little research with the assistance of my trusty dispatcher. The proposed JFK-HKG will be a 777 flight. The 744 doesn't have the lung capacity. The only question is will it be ATL getting the positive space commutes or DTW? Of course this is only mentioned out of my own personal best interest.:D I only recently really looked at/analysed the AE. Of course, the results will be the most telling, but IF this AE is the end of the bad news, we are gonna need some bodies. Boomer better get that resume' polished up. Hey, you missed out on a 32hr. Joburg GS tonight, so did I. I got the call at 21:59, for a 22:30 report! I kept cheking to see who they finally got, two reserve Capts., at 2245, for a midnight push! The DXB trip was also mx delayed until tomorrow morning at 8am, but those poor sob's were notified in advance, so they got nada extra. Looks like they need to add back some of the 45 777 Capt + F/O's they displaced in the last 3 bids... |
I got the PM from Scambo.
He said he'd rather http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__...ra37o1_500.png if not that, then this is still better than the 88... http://www.deviantart.com/download/1...er-d3977ro.gif but at least the 717 has technology. He said good luck. :D |

Talking NHL for me is as depressing as this forum - I'm a Buffalo Sabres fan (14/15 in their conference - can't get out of their own way figuring out ways to lose) - I'll at least buy a beer.

Could be worse. I lived in Edmonton during the Gretzky, Anderson, Jari Kuri, Anderson, Messier, Dave Semenko era.....my team sucks. Has sucked ever since Gretzky defected. Born in Vancouver but I could never bring myself to be a real fan. Still hope for the best though. At least the Gwinnett Gladiators won the other night when I took my son. Roller hockey in PTC helps quell my hockey addiction.

Delta has delayed the delivery of the initial 3 717's. They will now be taking delivery of 6 starting in October. The bigger issue for Delta is that Boeing has decided to move their entire Seattle sim center to Miami. It will take Boeing 60 days to move the 717 sim from SEA to MIA. The training department is freaking out because of the loss of available sim time. Delta was able to move the DC-9 sim and get certification in 21 days and they are upset that Boeing is taking this long. The other 717 sims available worldwide are located in Stockholm or Brisbane. Sign me up for that assignment:). I guess the Hawaiian pilots now have to go to Brisbane for recurrent training.
