There may be some hope for you LAX folks:

So you're telling me we're not hiring because we're investing in celebrity inspired airport restaurants in LAX and not additional gate space? Got it. Makes perfect sense.

There's a rumor out here that we're working the gate issue as well. Involves some gate swapping with UAL. Can't come soon enough.

And terminal 5 is in dire need of an overhaul....and I like the new eating options. Its real food.

So how the heck does a RES pilot buy a future rotation? Check out the daily coverage for nyc7erB.

Wonder about the effectiveness of putting out PR long before the investment is available for customer's use. Can you imagine Ford advertising a "new car, but wait, it will be available sometime in 2015."

Might it be better to finish the product, then invite everyone out to see and use it? Instead of surprise and delight, customers are more thinking ..."haven't they been talking about that forever? Wasn't it supposed to be done ...."

True enough. It's still so foreign a concept to see an airline actually invest (literally billions) in the product and passenger. Gotta have the pax to need the pilots though. Plus you'll have more food.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with AAL with the merger as far as LAX too. The master plan for PHX is going to leave someone with a ton of room to play someday...

That is weird. And how do you go 4000 deep to find an inverse assignment (I.e. no green slips) on a Thursday?

That inverse assignment was from Monday the 1st. So why was it posted on today's trip coverage? Weird!!

You can always call and ask. On here, it's just speculation.

I've known them to buy a trip for a res who hasn't flown in a while. If they're fat on reserves, it's actually cheaper than sending them to the sim.

The time/date stamp changes if they go back to modify the rotation. I saw one the other day that had an award time after dept time (actual, not sched)

I wish they would always put a note on one when they've done something funky. Would probably save them from answering a few phone calls

If they did, in fact, buy the trip out of seniority, I think anyone with a WS or GS that was bypassed is pay protected...like dirtdriver said, just call and ask.

If it doesn't sound right, ask for a supervisor. I called a while back and it sounded like the scheduler was making something up. (He was.) I asked for the supervisor, who apologized for the "new guy being trained in."
