I recently purchased a new MacBook Air 13" 128gb. I was looking at the 11in but Best Buy had this on sale for 999 on 3/23.
I had a 13 in MacBook from '08 that had a couple lines of pixels go bad. I actually looked at the 11in air, but only the 13in was on sale. So far I'm very happy. It fits nicely in my flight kit and feels durable and the performance and screen are outstanding My last MacBook last twice as long as any wnidows computer I have owned and is still usable. Also check out the refurbished macs from apple. They get new batteries and chassis and get great reviews usually 7-10% cheaper. |

Anyone on this thread have a MacBook Air 11" or 13"?
My Apple-Mac IIe, from 1984, (Apple IIe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) finally died & am looking to get it replaced. (Computer store said they can no longer fix it!) :) Anyway, looking for recommendations/suggestions/opinions on whether you'd go with the same screen size again, or would go smaller/larger based on when/where you use it on the road. Basically, I'm looking for something that offers the "ease of commute-ability" factor, but also isn't a too small to have decent functionality for what you use it for? (e.g. 11" screen size owners wishing they'd purchased the 13" instead?) Thanks for the replies. GJ I got the 254 gb solid state hard drive, w/ thunderbolt port the FaceTime camera. Its a fairly supped up machine, and frankly, I love it. My first Macbook and besides having to learn all of the function keys for MS Office its much better than a PC base laptop. |
ACL,
Thanks. Does the MacBook Air 13", w/ protective cover, fit in your rollerbag? Or do you carry it in an additional portfolio/man-purse(murse)? :) Thanks, GJ |

Got a MacBook Air 13in refurb from Apple.com Went to the DAL employee discount site and then went to the refub site. It gave about a 12% discount on top of the normal refurb cost. I then got an extra power cord, the moshi palm guard and a clear hardshell case. All in it was about 1700 bucks. New would have been over 2500 without any discounts.

Its 80 bucks but its the best laptop case I have ever used. I also bought a Antler Ultimate Traveler fro Ebags that is awesome. It works for my McRib, Macbook, Headset and a ton of other stuff. Allows me to pack my rollerboard for a longer trip and not worry about the computer on the top. Oh and btw, the solid state hard drive allows it to remain in your bag though security. |

Are you able to elaborate on that at all? Or anyone else on here that has a MacBook Air? I have one and never realized it didn't have to be taken out! Has the TSA ever questioned it? |
