There's a new rotation lettering system. L is for Latin America for certain fleet types. It's spelled out in the May crew resources monthly update.

The following letters will be placed in front of rotations that fly to the corresponding region:

A - Atlantic

C - Latin America for the 320, 73N and 744

L - Latin America for the 765, 767, 777, 7ER

M - Military

P - Pacific

R - Africa

U - South America

I have a 13" air and don't ever take it out. I commute weekly and in the year plus that I have had it I can count on one hand how many times I have been asked to remove it, both in uniform and civies. Here is the TSA blog about it, I just figure the average screener doesn't know the difference between the 11" and the 13".

They need to come up with a better navigation option.

First, they removed space for the FOs bag. The FOs man purse, computer bag plus Mcrib, has no place either unless you rest it on top of the printer and MDM. And we need those like every few minutes. Plus it blocks the QRH which we need every other few minutes.

Just put your computer in the overhead bin located at seat 33A. Wait. In recurrent, how many of you are asked to list from memory where all the emergency equipment is by respective seat number? A Captain was telling me he had that on his last recurrent. He also got reamed on the debrief on a D period for doing his fuel pump check starting with the right pump and working left instead of starting with the DC pump and working to the right. The good thing was the entire debrief was dedicated to the fuel panel test and not some other stuff he didn't want to discuss. ;) The bad thing was the entire debrief time was used.

Let's guess the initials of the APD...........

Sailing I agree. Absolutely. But then the path to least resistance...

I did have an APD who did the memory items and then said now we will go through the rest of them. And he opened the book and asked us every limitation under the guise know more than you don't but in reality know them all. Geeish.

If I wasn't a five year new hire I'd do exactly what you said. :D

Bidding question....If you are in a category that is awarded an extra "X" day to reserves, does a reserve pilot with vacation in the month get an extra "X" day in addition to the number of "X" days calculated using the prorated "X" day table?
