doh... I read that LAX announcement and was chanting the entire time, 'get more gates, get more gates." Only to find we're getting renewed finishes commensurate with the Hollywood/LAX customer base ;) Oh well, it's something and will improve pax out there I hope. But I felt like the farm kid at Christmas opening up his last tall present hoping for a BB gun, and getting a shovel, again.

So how the heck does a RES pilot buy a future rotation? Check out the daily coverage for nyc7erB.
Possible in this case? |
Is it me, or has there been higher than usual carry-out reshuffling at the end of April?

If they did, in fact, buy the trip out of seniority, I think anyone with a WS or GS that was bypassed is pay protected...like dirtdriver said, just call and ask.
If it doesn't sound right, ask for a supervisor. I called a while back and it sounded like the scheduler was making something up. (He was.) I asked for the supervisor, who apologized for the "new guy being trained in." PD, I think the only guy pay protected is the one who should have been awarded the trip. Scoop |
Anyone on this thread have a MacBook Air 11" or 13"?
My Apple-Mac IIe, from 1984, (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_IIe) finally died & am looking to get it replaced. (Computer store said they can no longer fix it!) :) Anyway, looking for recommendations/suggestions/opinions on whether you'd go with the same screen size again, or would go smaller/larger based on when/where you use it on the road. Basically, I'm looking for something that offers the "ease of commute-ability" factor, but also isn't a too small to have decent functionality for what you use it for? (e.g. 11" screen size owners wishing they'd purchased the 13" instead?) Thanks for the replies. GJ |

I actually looked at the 11in air, but only the 13in was on sale. So far I'm very happy. It fits nicely in my flight kit and feels durable and the performance and screen are outstanding My last MacBook last twice as long as any wnidows computer I have owned and is still usable. Also check out the refurbished macs from apple. They get new batteries and chassis and get great reviews usually 7-10% cheaper. |
Blue moon,
Thanks for the reply. My previous laptop too was a 13" (black, 08') MacBook. (Prior model to Apple coming out with their aluminum cases.) As you stated, it lasted twice as long as any PC I've ever owned, & finally had the screen go out on it. Did you know too that Apple offers a Delta discount on new Apple products? Think it's only around 5%, but every little bit helps when you're a "frugal" pilot. :) GJ |
