Not yet. He gave me the ok to spread the word though. He didn't have the details, or at least did not disclose them

Really? They can't seem to figure out what to do with the 320's we have now! Sounds like a good chance these are replacement jets, and as others have stated probably replacing a higher paying aircraft.

Timbo 05-06-2013 08:14 AM

And A330's too?

I wonder if it's part of a package deal, along with the "Wide Body Order" we are supposed to hear about come August?

My NW Budds tell me it was Richard who brought the Airbus's NW, when he was CEO there.

I hear he doesn't like new Boeings (too expensive) any more than he liked Apple iPads (for the same reason) which is why we are getting Microsoft tablets.

Hey, Wait

Maybe it's 15 A380's!! :eek::eek::D

Man! What's been going on with the market the last couple of weeks!?! I love it but I'm wondering when the other shoe is going to drop..... DAL stock is about 18.10.....WooHoo! What's it going to do for the rest of the year along with the rest of the market? Just curious what people think. See who has the best crystal ball! :)

Yeah I bet Boeing is "hopping mad" that we're making noise over their goverment gravy train ImEx slush fund to the dellusional ME fantasy bubble carriers. That is a ride they do NOT want to end "artificially". I'd be suprised if they were willing to deal very much right now, especially to DL. They're pretty high on themselves with everything except the 787 right now, and likewise AB is probably more than happy to oblige.

And IMO a really, really risky time to be entertaining a stock buyback. Even if we go the dividend route and that inflates it even more, when we inevitably stop, and we will, it'll be right back to where it would have been without it and all that money will be gone. We need to put 100% of that "plan" into long term pension debt payments and further product investment.

I agree with you. Put the money into paying down debt, including the long term pension, and I would think the stock price would still go up with the smaller debt obligation. Of course what do I know about this............not much!

Any alternate suggestions for wool pants? $100 at Abbotts is unappetizing.

I bought the Abbots wool pants and liked them a lot. However, I recently tried just standard black Haggar "e-clo comfort waist with repreve stria", 100% poly, and love them. I would never have bought polyester pants in my life but needed a pair quickly. Turns out they are much superior to the $100 abbots pants I swore by for years:
-cost $30
-look better-- never any wrinkles, always a permanent crease. Perfect match for the Delta black (black 001), matches my jacket better than the Abbots pants match my original Abbots jacket. Take your jacket to the store and you can match color exactly from what's available.
-more stylish- you can get pleats in front or flat, and plain bottom or cuffs
-no dry-cleaning! You can just wash them and light tumble, hang up, and they look ironed and creased. I iron them, but you wouldn't have to.
-feel better. Pants are lighter, and don't rub any hair off your legs
-LASTLY... that comfort waist! The pants will expand in size invisibly via an extra pleat near the pocket. This is fantastic for comfort when sitting in a cockpit chair and lounging back, leaning way forward, stretching to climb out over the console etc. And if you have a few too many beers that month, they are very forgiving while you get around to working the weight off!

Ok, I'm enthusiastic, but I couldn't believe how much nicer some pants I bought at the BX were compared to the expensive ones I had been buying.
