More than a few Pinnacle insiders seem to have strong opinions on Delta's contract 2015.
ALPA vigorously denies C2012 was linked to Pinnacle and /or more outsourcing, but it sure was convenient that our cops did not observe the break in. Further, as soon as objective evidence was brought forward they trotted "the Judge" out to stop Reps' queries into blatant violations of our C&BL and Admin Manual. The irony was that our current Admin would be called to pay for the sins of the previous Admin, likely restoring the previous Admin to power .... a well engineered political catch 22 if I've ever seen one. But it is truly sad to see how far we will go to facilitate outsourcing. At the top we must really believe in this stuff. I agree with everything you say here and the issues you raise bar (no pun intended) but your schizophrenia on the subject of DALPA and your own desire to be loyal to the group seem to be in direct conflict with your own personal beliefs. That said, I do appreciate your commentary. Keep it coming. |

Outsourcing is our strategy. We have constructively engaged and ratified and settled and approved and signed and endorsed and negotiated more and more outsourcing at every opportunity. The poster boy for this strategy has been elected as our President. Moak has done nothing but facilitate outsourcing during his entire rise to the top. The skeptical point of view as evidenced on this forum has been defeated at the polls time and time again. I hope it all works. Otherwise -- Will the last mainline pilot please turn out the lights. |

ALPA will likely survive the politicians & admin who do not understand unity and who don't care for the democratic process. ALPA is a the only effective representational tool in our professional box. Our union is not the politicians. Politicians come and go. We pilots are ALPA and hopefully there will be an ALPA as long as there are professional pilots. Besides, I'd rather be in a sightly disfunctional ALPA than have to face them at the table representing Pinnacle and Express Jet against us. This union belongs to you and me. Better to try to change it's course than to scuttle it. |

The problem is DALPA negotiators failed to hold the line on scope. That's bad enough, but the pilot group ratified their negotiating failure with a resounding 68% "yes" vote. So as long as Delta pilots keep "caving" on scope, the company will keep asking for more. Honestly, can you blame them? Fire Away!:) Denny |

I'm certain Moak had many other shots to fire if it had been necessary...but it was not necessary. Our new leaders now know their place and are silent.

Some may "die" but most take years to play out. We started hearing about Chinese MD-90s about 5 years ago and they are still trickling in today. The 717 went from rumor to fact in less than 2 years. The current rumor - about 10 more wide-bodies is well on its way - give it a few more months. Scoop |
