So if we were to meet the "contractually agreed to" numbers then we would be flying more than our "fair share" of the flying. No wonder DALPA does not seem too concerned about this.

This brings up numerous questions:

If the contractual number is not fair - why did we and/or our partners, and the company agree to them?

If the contractual numbers do not represent our fair share of the flying then what is our fair share?

Why don't they just say the company is not meeting its obligations and we expect them to correct it?

OBTW - Who had the great idea of a 3 year measurement window anyway?

Scoop

Not only that, a couple of paragraphs above your quote they say "......, but the evidence also shows that within the TAJV, the Delta pilots have maintained their "fair share" of the work."

Now I take exception to that. I say the contract defines what our "fair share" is and we are not going to be in compliance with it in on March 31, 2014. At least it doesn't look like the Company will be..... This begs the question: What will it take for the Company to be in compliance in 2014? On page one of the Update they say "......compliance is not a snapshot but a rolling three year period." That's going to be a lot of flying to make up.....

I'm going to the PUB event in Seattle in about an hour and will ask these questions....

suit = space suit.

Went to the theater to see a movie and the "Drifting" part of this trailer came up on the previews. As Sandra Bullock spun off into space she kept saying "Do You Copy" "Please Copy" "Please Copy"....

My three year old asked rather loudly, "why does she want coffee?"

They are apparently trying to help the DPA get the final few cards they need to call a vote.

Denny,

Tell them thanks. I was undecided on whether or not to renew my DPA card. This BS e-mail just made the decision quite easy. DPA card going in as soon as I get home.

Scoop - Flying my "fair share" of DAL flights.

I read somewhere that we are so far behind in block hours that it is impossible to be in compliance by the measurement period. The small charts, and absence of block hour shortage numbers probably made it hard for you to see that.

Well Scoop, our block hour ratios between us and DCI will be measured for the first time in January 2014. If unbalanced in DCI's favor, management has until July 2014 to show DALPA the plan to correct the imbalance. What if DALPA simply says: "those ratios didn't represent our fair share"?

Carl

Its not hard to see what's about to happen.

DALPA is now "constructively engaged" in both the Atlantic and the Pacific.

We all know what that means.

Carl,

I agree.

How about the next time crew scheduling calls a pilot with an inverse assignment:

"This is Delta Crew scheduling - we have an inverse assignment trip for you."

"Well I know what my "contractual obligation" is, but I think I have already flown more than my "fair-share" of line flights for the month so call someone else."

How do you think that will turn out?

So board of directors meeting has come and gone I guess.

I hate to say you might be wrong twice on the same page DH, but that was the annual meeting of stockholders in June, not the quarterly Board of Directors meeting.

It's the BOD who approves aircraft purchases, not the stockholders.
