I hate to be the negative nancy on this, but nothing in the announcement says anything about the size of the fleet. We can still see some of the older 320's retired.....

Of course we can. But the question is how many? At least the fleet plan shows growth by 70+ airplanes over the next few years. :)

Updates to the baby Bus fleet. Does anyone else find this little morsel of info extremely interesting?
Ok, so I know the Airbus pilots are pretty excited about something the Boeing fleet has been doing since almost the flying boat days.... I told a couple of folks about this and captured their reactions. We will start with my own: http://mrwgifs.com/wp-content/upload...iting-Dude.gif so, I ran it by the hot chick in Married with Children http://i.imgur.com/UW3xNxA.gif So, it would seem ... exactly zero craps given. |

Hey fellas, I'm thinking about where to move after I roll off my current mil leave. As an '08 hire, I'm still too junior to hold LA or Seattle, but I wonder what y'all (Did I do that right? I might wind up in Atlanta!) think the over/under is on some movement in the, y'know, desirable bases.

I believe the RNP authorization doesn't refer to anything more than a deal has been made with Airbus. The DAL Airbus fleet has been simulator flying RNP's forever waiting on that day when Airbus would flip the giant RNP switch in France that allowed us to legally fly an RNP approach in the aircraft. The problem was that Airbus wanted a boatload of money to flip the RNP switch to On. (Same shakedown Boeing gives us on buying post delivery takeoff data.)
Well, that's a lot of words to say: Connecting the dots makes CAAC think that we have completed a big Airbus order and they flipped the RNP switch for "free". |

From the crew resources update...744 and 777 get 52 hour BKK layovers. I wonder how many will retire because they get there and just don't ever want to leave?
