SLC chief pilot said they had not heard of any hiring beyond 300. Or you could look at it like this: 300 new bodies 150 furlough returners 150 new hires 148 retirements between now and 31 Dec 2014 Means the seniority list will grow by 2 pilots. So while technically that is growth... it certainly could be turn the other direction quickly |

I agree with you. Not a hiring boom to say the least and with more 75/76 FO displacements on the way the pain will continue.

And then comes my favorite question, a +2 pilots yet supposedly 88 all growth planes arriving right now at a rate of 3/mo through the rest of this year and next. Something doesn't jibe.
But no, the 88 717's are not all growth and the 737-900's aren't all replacement. I doubt they know, at this moment, how many they will hire. |
Unless of course we are about to have something dropped in our lap? How about new WBs and hiring greater than previously mentioned 300... If some JV language is amended to meet today's economic reality?
It's like the a Captain once said of FAs, I swear management takes things away from them and rile them up and then give it back and it feels like a win. |
