You're lucky it was a Fifi and not a MD-90. Then your 5 hr delay would have been a cancellation. ;):p:D I'll bet it was actually a Feltzer Valve.

We’ll take our next question from Mary Jane Credeur with Bloomberg News. Mary Jane Credeur - Bloomberg News Hi, folks. Can you talk a little bit about how you’re going to afford that new pilot contract? Richard Anderson Hi, Mary Jane, this is Richard. Sorry for not saying hello. When you look at the overall value that we’re going to create as a result of (changing scope to eliminate inefficient RJs and upgauge to mainline planes) unlocking the ability to refleet(upgauge to mainline creating pilot jobs) plus the productivity (still not seeing the claims that all reserves will be flying ALV+15 every month come true, but trip parking was eliminated) that has been built into that agreement, we’re confident that it will be an important part of our ability to get to unit cost over the next couple of years to improve our margins (increase the price of my stock shares putting more money in my pocket) and our return on invested capital. Glen Hauenstein And, Mary Jane, this is Ed. One additional thing, we also reduced the profit sharing (guaranteed money in the form of hourly wage raises) going forward and that’s an important part of helping to fund (Pay for 717s plus additional WBs and NBs fueling mainline growth and RJ reduction) that cost growth. Mary Jane Credeur - Bloomberg News Sure. Okay. Thank you. Operator We’ll take our next question from... just sayin......reading between the lines FYP. Guess it's all about individual interpretation. ;) |

And how about the 45+ MD90s that have been acquired? Where do they fit in? ;)

If I go over 100 hours in a year, I'll pull out a "verified" sick leave note from the file and get it truly "verified" by the company. As I read the contract, there is no time limit on when you have to verify a particular sick leave...

Yup, 125+, "new", growth, etc, and we're almost a wash on MD products, plus all the "new" captains we'll have while the active list has shrunk how much in the last 4 yrs? it's almost like 1+1=3 :)
I don't know about the active list, but since the ISL was released we have lost around 1000 pilots. But due to hiring in 2010, the net loss is less then 1000 pilots. |

I don't see how it's not what's in the contract. You have the part about days and hours of unverified sick use, but the section right after that gives the CP the ability to call on a "good faith basis." They could call Roadkill using the justification of "good faith basis" couldn't they? As to not accepting USAF doc note, well, the PWA says they have the option of requiring a doctor's certificate, and it goes on to mention a company designated doctor.
“Doctor” means a medical professional who holds one of the following degrees: a. M.D., b. D.O., c. D.D.S., d. D.C., e. D.M.D., or f. D.P .M. I got confused as to whom this actually happened to, Roadkill or Gunship or someone else. Is this thought process flawed? |
Delta is so close to an investment grade rating they could get there as early as next year. Why order any planes till that happens?
