Yep ... about 54,800 lbs ... 28,400 thrust rating

Unfortunately it doesn't carry the 75 pay rate, which it should.

We also wear garlic wreaths around our necks.

For some reason that does not deter those in the hospitality profession who randomly scream "HOUSEKEEPINNGG" while hitting a pot with a wooden spoon and operating a JT8B on a stick with an ineffective dust bag over it's thrust reverser housing.

Heard Boeing's new bosses found some "dial a flap" controls and are going to install them for MD88 commonality & dispatch.

On the -800, it's 30 or 40 unless there's a malfunction or super crosswinds. I'm guessing the same for the -900

Hmmm...interesting. I've always looked at the -900 as Boeing's version of the 321. But as I understand it, the 321 is inferior to the 320 in every possible way except capacity. Sounds like that's not the case with the -900 vs. the -800.

321 same as the 320 just more seats, better comparison is the 75-2 to the 75-3.

I don't know where my buddy got this but:

Navy: The truth is the Navy has an excellent track record of knowing what it's doing.

We saw the potential in Mav and Goose and we sent them to Miramar, which I don't think the Air Force would have done.

Have any of you guys checked a bag at the ticket counter when listed for the cockpit jumpseat? Is this possible?

Yes and yes. When you list for the jumpseat you create a PNR (it's the 6 digit record locator). Use that at the ticket counter and they'll tag your bag.

True that. I especially enjoy the synergy that is vacuum cleaners + power tools in the floor above + people speaking very loudly in languages I can't understand followed by the very loud knock on the door while "Do Not Disturb" is flashing from the door knob.

You're thinking of the first generation A321s, which were slugs.

The newer 321s (not NEO) have a much higher max takeoff weight than the 737-900 at 206,000 (39,000 lbs higher than the A320, 19,000 lbs higher than the 737-900ER) and can hold up to 53,000 lbs of fuel. Also engines are uprated to 33,000 lbs of thrust.

That's a lot more airplane than just a 320... and a lot more airplane than a 739. More comfy in the front and back, too. :)
