235 Miles Per Hour, which is 204 Knots.

It is alleged the -900 has better runway performance than a -800.

You would be surprised at how close the max revenue carrying capability of the 900 makes it very, very, close to a 757-200. It carries more cargo, has a bit better range, and is within 800lbs of the revenue load capability of the 757-251. The reduced fuel required to produce 20,000 fewer pounds of thrust might make the 800lbs a non issue.

Of course, that's like my wife pointing out to me that a Toyota Corolla outperforms at Mercedes 190E 2.3-16, or that a Honda Oddessy can wipe the floor with any Lotus built before the year 2000 and some older 911's.... yeah, but, ....

Based on the quarter's distance learning CD, the -900's rotation and landing speeds are slower than the -800. You just can't flare or rotate too quickly which, is also the case with the -800, only more restrictive.

Yeah, but maybe it wont have the limitation which prohibits day VFR operation.

Or maybe it is just my observation that the -700 never operates during daylight hours and the -800 only flies occasionally in the sun. Every time I see them move they depart at 22:00 and stop at 05:30. If they are still flying at 06:30, then they are required to be in holding awaiting a clearance to an airport with a wet runway.

Southwest operates theirs during the day which must mean they bought off somebody with Pizza and Booze.

Bar, the aircraft are actually certified to fly during the day, its our pilots that aren't. We can't see during the day unless we're ensconced in a hotel room with black out curtains and the AC turned all the way cold.

We also wear garlic wreaths around our necks.

Hmmm...interesting. I've always looked at the -900 as Boeing's version of the 321. But as I understand it, the 321 is inferior to the 320 in every possible way except capacity. Sounds like that's not the case with the -900 vs. the -800.

Hi, folks. Can you talk a little bit about how you’re going to afford that new pilot contract?

Richard Anderson
Hi, Mary Jane, this is Richard. Sorry for not saying hello. When you look at the overall value that we’re going to create as a result of (Changing the SCOPE) unlocking the ability to refleet plus the productivity ( changing pilot work rules) that has been built into that agreement, we’re confident that it will be an important part of our ability to get to unit (PILOT cost) cost over the next couple of years to improve our margins ( increase our bonus) and our return on invested capital.

Glen Hauenstein
And, Mary Jane, this is Ed. One additional thing, we also reduced the profit sharing (PILOT PAY CUT) going forward and that’s an important part of helping to fund (Pay for the 76 seat RJ's) that cost growth.

Mary Jane Credeur - Bloomberg News
Sure. Okay. Thank you.

Man, I can watch that all day.

Oh, and only one week left until football officially kicks off! Hook'em! Although as a wanna-be Delta guy, I suppose I should jump on the SEC bandwagon...

You'd better or A&M is gonna take away what's left of your program. If Manziel ever grows up, he has the ability to turn that team into a powerhouse recruiting wise. If I were Mack Brown and the TU (real UT is in Knoxville) A/D, I'd be worried. TV package or not, the talent in Texas is gonna want to go to the SEC to win National Championships, and if they can do it and stay home they won't have to go to Alabama.....

That is an EXCELLENT question.

Yep ... about 54,800 lbs ... 28,400 thrust rating

We're probably already there ... remember that the news reports what already happened. Among those who finance aircraft this distinction on our bond rating is already reliably known.

... bet it is because they don't do flaps 1. Lets see ...

Heard Boeing's new bosses found some "dial a flap" controls and are going to install them for MD88 commonality & dispatch.
