Halloween on APC. What sort of weirdness is afoot?

Hmmm.. Jennifer Aniston's nipples and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Which reminded me.... Susan Sarandon was kinda hot back in the day.

I've never had an exam at Costco before. I'm thinking about it by the end of the year. The one near me has 2 or 3 optometrists at it. I don't know if there is a big difference in optometrists. I was thinking of doing exactly that, the one stop shopping. I don't know if the Costco guys are any less expensive than others or not. If you have a guy you like going to, I'd probably do that and take the prescription in to Costco.

I had an eye exam at Costco in DTW (Middlebelt and I-96), less than a month ago and I can say the exam was the exact same as ones I have had at both Lense Crafters and Henry Ford Optimeyes.

It was a straight 55 dollars (the Costco at 8 mile and Haggerty Rd. is $59) and I walked out with a prescription that I could take to another eyeglass shop (Debit or AMEX only). I did not buy glasses as my prescription only changed slightly and was still 20/20.

A Contact lense exam is 89 I believe.

Either way I would recommend them, they had good availability. I called at 10 am and he had a few openings and got me in at 11:15. I was in and out in under 25 minutes and the guy was very personable.

Revealing my antiquity:
I actually took rice and toast and a squirt gun, etc etc. to the theatre in college for the midnight show on Halloween.

Wow! 55 bucks? That's about half the price of the Pearle guy I've gone to before. I suspect that, in my neck of the woods, Costco's doc's won't be far off from the Pearle guy. Looks like I might be getting a new pair of glasses in Dec. Gotta use up that FSA!

Bluemoon/Denny,

Thanks for the info. COSTCO sounds like an acceptable option, & 'good deal' for us 'frugal' pilots. :)

Speaking of frugal pilots - I've used this place for glasses: Zenni Optical - Eyeglasses, The best place to buy glasses - Prescription Glasses, Bifocal, Progressive, Rimless Eyeglasses for Men, Women & Kids Glasses and had great results. I got two nice pairs for $36 with anti-glare on one pair, including shipping. Took about two weeks to receive them.

It's all online, shipped to your house. Pretty sure they make the glasses in China, but everything else is too. The glasses are well made and sturdy. The only part of online ordering that was tough was making sure you get your "PD" measurement, which is basically your pupil distance from the center of your eyes. You can measure it, but your eye doc can provide it when you get your exam.

You can upload a picture of yourself and "try on" the glasses to see how they look.

I was going to suggest you forward to the 24 second point, but hell, watch the whole thing.

That's just the excuse they needed, it was inevitable, Big Papi was not going to allow the Sox to lose!

Great series though, the Cards are good, the Sox were better last night.

And Thank You, STL, for flying Delta!
