two points:
-- colloquial tone when talking to your audience. Delta = southern polite = "real close now, y'all standby fer good times!"
-- language drift and creolization. "Real close" equally as valid now as "Methinks 'tis passing strange!" is now invalid.

Carry on.
Oh yeah... and most language Nazi attacks are STILL invalid, have been since 1600s. Only critiques on "their/they're/there" are OK, its/it's is never ok to critique, and most contractions and miss-spellings are totally acceptable under the smartphone texting auto-correct construction.
