I'm not European. I don't plan on being European. So who gives a crap if they're socialists? They could be fascist anarchists, it still doesn't change the fact that I don't own a car. |

Not saying you are wrong, but where did you hear it. ALPA can't win. On the one hand many of the more junior guys want to lower the first bucket to 50-60 or so (which I tend to agree with), while a few months ago at an ATL LEC meeting some other guys were proposing that we do away with the bucket system period AND the RAW system so that senior guys wouldn't ever fly unless all the junior guys, no matter how much they flew, simply weren't available.
You certainly can't please all the pilots all the time! So absolutely herk, I'm with you, you cannot and will not please everyone. There are guys who want to pull up the ladder and those who want it down, some who want to work every day and some who don't want to work any day ever. I personally think when it comes to staffing we need to be as clear as we are about things related to safety; if it reduces staffing, the answer is no. And to me keep a constant churn of guys flying going and claim that while they may not touch 60 hours they certainty provide needed availability when needed and the most important ability is availability. :D Don't make it blatantly obvious that you could live without 10% or more or they'll chop them right off like they did on ATL88B. The person who mentioned it was an ATL 737 A. I wouldn't repeat it if it didn't sound plausible. |

What, Surface tablets to management pilots, or that a couple of them flew a 717? To paraphrase the great philosopher, Bueller.
