The first recall class starts soon, doesn't it? Anybody here know yet what the breakdown will be for jets and bases? Probably Atl and dtw 717 and JFK Md-80's, but I'm curious what the numbers will be.

Also, when is the next AE? I'd imagine that would highlight where the first few classes will be going.

The first group starts on Monday. Options offered to recall pilots in seniority order were:

73N B - DTW(25), LAX(5) and NYC(20)
320 B - DTW(7), NYC(8) and SLC(5)
M88 B - ATL(18), CVG(1), MSP(9) and NYC(2)
717 B - ATL(39) and DTW(37)

The next AE will likely occur at the end of November or early December.

Well maybe, but what are they going to jump to?

Crew resources has already said that they aren't backfilling the 7ER as people bid off that. Some A330s are in for lie-flat mods this winter, so I don't see many openings on that plane either. Possibly some large airplane retirements (B777, B747 and B764) could put a few openings in there. But really - all the AEs in the foreseeable will be for narrow bodies. There will be Captain openings too, but most of the recalls are too junior to hold a Captain position.

they seem to say no backfills then turn around and backfill. i really dont believe much of what is said by CR. i used too, but not lately. now if CR is bring honest then I agree with you.

watch for ER backfills and for recalls that didnt already get the 73 or 320 to head that way. its just my guess but i doubt many held out this long in the hopes of returning to the 88.
