I'm not sure it would.

They're already out of GS in several categories and going into IA. That means to me that those that would have volunteered to fly for Holiday Pay are already used up.

Got a newbie question for ya, is there an entity at ALPA that monitors all these cancellations and gathers data to engage the company? This sounds like some great ammo to engage the company for some of the gains we want.

I'm not sure whether it work or not but right now the incentive to bid to fly on Christmas is zilch. I wonder how many more would bid to fly over Christmas when they put their bid in November if they knew it was premium pay?

Besides Christmas is hard to hold off and the pool of GSers has to be a small portion of that group.

Idk but next year nobody gets Christmas off or we bring back the DC9.

Guys, I don't brag about my singing ability much here but I have to say my rendition of o Holy Night is pretty freaking good especially towards the end when I hit the high notes. You'll love it.

Gather your crew or family around or maybe even put the mic up to your phone and put it over the PA and enjoy, FTB, O Holy Night

You are welcome.

Strategic Planning Committee does that. Or used to. The new chairman wants to expand the operation to resemble his work at national when he ran SPSC.

This little dustup in scheduling is nothing. Wait until this happens with 117 in effect...

I would think that having holiday pay would help on the pbs run. You would have less trips remaining in open time on holidays. It probably would not help these last minute deals but it would help having more initial open time covered.

Are we supposed to get called for IA's while on vacation?

This...staff the airline. What is currently happening should surprise no one the least of which being scheduling/planning which is tasked with preparing for things like holiday flying. They saw this coming and accepted it. They decided that our passengers and the crews should pay the price rather than hire enough crews to properly run the airline so they could deliver the product our customers paid for....on Christmas Eve no less.

When enough flights get canceled that the media picks up on the story what will be the company's response? What will DALPA's response be?
