With everything that has been discussed here in this thread over the years, this topic is what you think will ruin it??

And as others have mentioned, this topic can very much have an influence (to the worse) on our career.

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out where the line is on this one. It's important with its ramifications to our industry, but it's science mixed with deep politics... I'll call uncle if once it goes too far.

My wife is watching american idol, I'm on shart call til midnight, and Kroger was out of milk but had Torpedo on sale. :) I'll be around.

I do love watching how language morphs over time, depending upon your persuasion, i.e.,

Liberal -> Progressive
Global Warming -> Climate Change
Illegal Alien -> Undocumented Immigrant
Terrorism -> Man-Caused Disaster
War On Terror -> Overseas Contingency Operations
Capitalism -> Economic Inequality

Reminds me of Orwell's 1984 and "Newspeak".

You hit that one out of the park, Elvis!

No that's not how stagecraft works. Reference 1988, NASA's Dr Hansen famous testimony to congress about global warming...

His sponsor, Senator Wirth...
TIMOTHY WIRTH: We called the Weather Bureau and found out what historically was the hottest day of the summer. Well, it was June 6th or June 9th or whatever it was. So we scheduled the hearing that day, and bingo, it was the hottest day on record in Washington, or close to it.

DEBORAH AMOS: [on camera] Did you also alter the temperature in the hearing room that day?

TIMOTHY WIRTH: What we did is that we went in the night before and opened all the windows, I will admit, right, so that the air conditioning wasn’t working inside the room. And so when the- when the hearing occurred, there was not only bliss, which is television cameras and double figures, but it was really hot.

How do the Global Warming Greenies account for the Medieval Warm period. Google it. They were farming Greenland in the 1500's. This is just a cycle. And it's been scientifically documented.

Breedlove, nice. That's what Ed Gerhard, also from NH, plays:

Breedlove J15 Ed Gerhard Signature Guitar Demo @ House of Musical Traditions - YouTube

He's not far from where I grew up in NH and he does workshops too. I've been to a couple and many of his pub sessions back in the day, when he played the local pubs in Exeter and Portsmouth. Great guy, very mellow and easy to talk to. We should have a road trip up there to visit him.

If we can separate the global warming/cooling natural cycle from the political cap and trade carbon tax for the purpose of discussion, then we can have clear conversations.

The cute polar bears are gonna have a hard time finding a small iceberg to float around on while looking for his coca cola.

The carbon tax is a tax on breathing...There, they figured out how to tax it.

Ha. One of the best "data" sources for debate here. The global warming supporters use all kinds of scientific data to prove that the Medieval Warm Period was actually slightly cooler than the climate cycle we are in now.

You can then read actual accounts from the Norse settlers that talk about birch forests and grazing of animals in the grasslands during the summer and winter during that period. So do you believe a scientific interpretation of ice cores or actual records of people who were there? If it's warmer now than it was then, why aren't there thick groves of birch trees and lush grass lands to graze on all year long?
