oh snap, i used the same 588 number twice! So this is awesome, it means we have do have now as many mainline aircraft that we had in 2001!!!!!!

We had 1016 then plus 36 AVROs, or 1052.

Now we have 1026 domestic (743 ML -12 DC9s + 295 JRJ) and if we can add the additional 30 CR9s/E175s and 77 more 717s... we have 1133 mainline jets!

MORE THAN 2001!!!!

I used to worry about the 88s going away, but now that they're getting the new cockpits they'll be here for a while too!

I know Richard pushed off the 787's NW had on order, until 2020, but those were the first edition jets with all the problems, the ones Richard said of; We don't want the first edition of anything...

So...are the longer 787's already flying and being delivered? Or has Richard changed his mind on the First Edition 787's?

Oh, and what about the 787 Fence? Remember, those 787's that NW had on order were also fenced, and the 5yr. Fence doesn't come down until Jan. 1, 2015, so if indeed there are 787's delivered to Delta prior to that, my guess is they will be fenced for the NW pilots only.

Timbo, you can have my spot...I like the da bus!

787's would have to be on the property within a year for the fence to make any difference. What's the likelihood of that happening?

Heavy Hitters - Top Donors 1989-2014

Just an interesting compilation of donors to candidates: red, blue, on the fence.

ALPA is number 56 on the list, which is pretty amazing, when you think about it.

Lots of cash going to DC, particularly by trade unions. Yet unions in this country are getting slaughtered left and right (public unions notwithstanding). This is a terrible thing for our profession, IMHO.

Does the 787 actually work now?

Wait.

In the C12 sales push, DALPA told us ALV+15 was only going to be utilized in international categories.

So you're admitting DALPA either 1) ineptly interpreted the ramifications of the contract, or 2) lied.

Which is it?

I don't recall DALPA ever stating that. They did say the main reason the company asked for ALV+15 was to better utilize WB reserves.

And I'll ask you again. How many times have you involuntarily flown to ALV+15 since the implementation of the new limit?

The first stretch, 787-9, is flying already, with deliveries this summer. The -10 hasn't flown, supposed to deliver in 2018.

Start a completely new fleet, with no current orders, in under 10 months? I'll have to see it to believe it.

Victimized? No one who will fly to ALV+15 is being "victimized." That's what a reserve is paid to do. Under the old contract I was consistently flown over the ALV in the busy months. The summer of 2010 was a busy one for NB FOs. Once again, how many times have you flown to ALV+15? How many times under the old contract did you actually get within 2 hours of the ALV and get released? Because it was maybe once for me. In 4 years of reserve.

An entire training program and manual system was in place pre merger. Maybe Delta can still use that?
