I am sure this has been suggested, but why doesn't someone start a whole new forum just for Delta that is public? Because there are many people like myself that are interested but don't have the time or patience to try to read through 15,000 posts. If there was a forum where everyone could post different subjects and then respond to individual subjects it could be much more organized and easy to read through. Just a thought.... what do you all think?

And there needs to be a DC-9 page unless its being put under the 88? Or it needs to be first, in order of type certificate. ;) |

Thats fine, I'm all for it, but only after we surpass Comair's forum for the number of posts. Right now they have like 15505 and we're like 15415. I don't think we've ever been this close.

I've never been down there but I have this convuluted mental image that has been built up since starting with Delta and I really need to go see it soon. I'm picturing the neighborhood in Desperate Housewives and everybody knows who you are and whether you're a slam clicker or go to South America too much.
I live in the burbs way north of town near Lake Lanier, when I stop at the gas station on the way to work people stare. I doubt they think I'm an airline pilot because outside of the lake nobody round here has ever seen one of those before, they're probably thinking who wears a tie with a short sleve shirt other than Dwight Shrute? I think they guess cop or something. My neighbors kid asked me if I was a cop, I told her yes and I that I might give her a ticket for not wearing her helmet while riding her bike. She kind of laughed and then went home. I forgot to tell her I wasn't really a cop so a couple of days later my wife made me go apologize. Well, the PTC cops have nothing better to do then put up sobriety check points on 74 and the golf cart paths. It is not like what you picture. I am sure there are some neighborhoods like that, but it is like everywhere else, except the fact that DAL supports almost the entire city. When we took the pay cuts a few years back the south side really got pinched. |

My wife is a Cali girl who didn't dig the roaches and cicadas. In retrospect, the bugs beat the hell out of the taxes and expenses of California. |

I (we) lived in PTC for 5 years prior to relocating to LA. It is Delta base housing (for you military types) for the Atlanta base. Great area, great schools, small town feel and only 35 minutes to the Camp Creek parking lot (at the airport). The good side: good affordalble housing, nice family atmosphere and close to work. The down side: you'll see all of your fly buddies at Home Depot or Best Buy. It can be a bit "too close" to work if you're not up for that. A golf cart will take you everywhere to include the amphitheater that hosts some great summer concerts. For the golfers, there's also 5 great courses that one membership will hook you up with within golf cart driving distance. I played at Braelinn. Nice course.
