That's unfortunate. I think I'm going to be against the idea of an ab initio program for Delta pilots with mentoring by someone with his attitude.

I would like to support ALPA's concept, but, the reality is that the Pinnacle Bridge Agreement which was authorized and ratified despite violations of ALPA's Admin Manual, the C&BL and Delta PWA has created a monster.

The level of crew room anxiety was not this high when Comair 5191 happened. Hope those guys stay focused.
You could fine some ****ed off captain at every DCI carrier AND Delta mainline that flies Delta passengers who talks like this. What's your point? 9E pilots have been kicked while down so many times I have lost count. I hope management will do something to fix the moral because it's going to get downright dangerous if they keep ****sing on their pilots.

Aren't they all taught in F/A new hire training that the four-stripes "make the money?"

I cannot imagine a fine choice like fr8tdog not being hired at DAL.

BTW, the new hires I've been flying with are impressively good and mostly former Endeavor/Mesaba types.

Well yeah, when you have a multi-million dollar job on the line, you tend to perform at a higher standard, and with a better attitude. A lot of the riff-raff at the regionals, are a product of their environment.

Respectfully, I'm a DCI guy who appreciates it when Bar drops in on a regional thread to share his insight. You may think it sounds trollish, but to me it comes across as the tough love, cut-through-the-BS common sense that a lot of guys over there need to hear. IMHO.

Bucking bar, I apologize that my comments went as far as they did, but Bobs posts pushed it..
I see that attitude every day with Deltas finest. I dealt with that attitude with the HR rep and Hiring MGR. The arrogance was unbelievable and this latest EtD is over the top.

Yes I fly Delta passengers and yes I will stay professional in the flight deck that's the person I am.

That is kind and professional of you to write.

I agree with you that this EtD thing is misguided.

As a 20 year veteran of this war, I know where a few of the land mines are and have been trying to guide you guys clear, but your generals have a lot more credibility than this foot soldier. I liked your latest MEC Comm. This thing will work itself out. I know where you are coming from. Ignore bigotry. The web board blow hards are gentlemen when you show up for work, no problems.

Fr8tdog, no worries, just trying to understand why you're so p!$$ed.

Aren't all current 9E pilots gonna get an SSP interview before any potential EtD new hires? Isn't that a huge advantage that most pilots, civilian or military, didn't have? There are 11k pilots updating their fix-it emails and sitting by the phone just for the same opportunity that 9E pilots will enjoy.

It sounds like you've already had your interview and it didn't go well..ok..who knows why..but I assume you still have 1000's of TPIC and will be very competitive for any other airline currently hiring. Maybe it's time to just chalk up your SSP as interview prep and move on to the next big thing. You really are in an awesome position to move on to a better gig, it just won't be Delta.

Jmho..

Might be. I think they can re-interview after a year or something.
