A link is up on the MEC Facebook page ... https://www.facebook.com/DeltaMECComm

(or TSquare can go to the ALPA website)

From the Capitol Hill Brief:

Take action NOW: A Senate amendment is in play starting today, to Deny NAI. The amendment is being introduced by Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI) as part of the FY 2015 Transportation Appropriations bill (S 2438), and will be taken up by the US Senate this week. The amendment language mirrors the accepted amendment by the House of Representatives last week, prohibiting funding for a foreign air carrier permit that does not comply with U.S. law, including the US-EU Open Skies Agreement.

Senate action can start as early as Monday afternoon with votes on amendments as early as Tuesday. We, you must act NOW! Call both of your U.S. senators through the Capitol switchboard 202-224-3121 and urge them to vote YES for the Schatz Amendment to Deny NAI!

Done. Although I have little hope for the 2 honorable:rolleyes: Senators in FL seeing things our way.

What is the 747s training capacity for initial courses? My understanding is that they couldn't handle much. So why open a new base if most of the flying is spread out through all of the bases at the same amount.

I mean why bother with that mess?

Low tech 88 guy here. Just changed teams( not lgbt, iPad Air vs PC laptop). Was wanting to download vol 1&2, FOM, MDM, fctm etc and put into one group. I didn't see a way to save it to the desktop like my laptop.

RA been saying they are having a hard time deploying the 747 ... but it makes money out of Atlanta.

Crew planning just said exactly that. No plans for a new 747 base. Plenty of retirements coming up for those that want to move to it.

There's a little break just north of the hotel about a 10 min walk. Not great but it can be fun. You'll see it because one of the hotels has a foam board rental kiosk in front of it. Welcome to LA!

5.0/baja, thanks fellers. You'll know me in the lounge by the goofy and ginormous grin on my face, I'm stoked to be here.

I may just be renting every OGG layover to make it happen. I'm still a pretty crappy surfer, but living in San Clemente and grabbing the occasional HI trip is going to change all that hopefully.

Will be interesting in Nov to see what the unwanted trips are. It's currently GUA, SJO, ATL (3 day) and then OGG. When GUA/SJO hit 15 hours (unless they move the dept time back) I''m guessing it'll go senior.

Welcome to Base...Let's trip trade...I'll give you all the OGG's you'd like!

Baja.

One of my kids (25yrs. old, still in college on the 8 year plan) called me a few days ago and she said, "Hey dad, can you send me some money so I can buy you something nice for Father's Day?"

At least my dog got me some Sam Adams Rebel IPA!

Man's best friend!

That Rebel IPA is surprisingly good. It's not a Pliny mind you, but darn good on a hot summer day.

It's has begun.

Had a three day recently.

What a goat rope.

Reroute Mission Impossible. 40 mins to clear customs and do bag dragging. Who builds that and thinks it will work?

Long story short, it didn't. The reason why is a story in itself.
However, we did get the big picture after significant rolling delay into the next day. The original crew was stranded.

Apparently they were in a city where they needed to rely on endeavor to get them to there next leg.

Guess what. No airplane ever showed because, drum roll, they don't have enough pilots to fly their schedule.

I don't very seriously that this will happen, however I have never heard of "bump in" rights. If you are talking about mandatory displacements coming before AE's you would be correct, however when they open a new category it's straight seniority. There would be a lot of ****ed off f747 pilots if that thing got moved to ATL.
