But the Surly Furious I had in Minny a while back is possibly the best beer I've ever had. It's billed as an IPA; definitely not a West Coast IPA (which I also enjoy). Great balance. More like a strong ale. I see they sell it in the Cibo shops at the airport now.

Surly Furious is good! Evil Twin by Heretic Brewing in southern Cali is very tasty as well. :)

Our bags AND CAR SEATS got sent on the other day even though we didn't make the flight. We actually asked for the bags back before the flight left and they said they were already loaded and the plane was closed up.

Lucky for us it was a CR2, it broke, they had to do an aircraft swap and so the lead was nice enough to grab those bags and send them back. Talking to the lead the bags go even you don't.

I know, you're like me doing this... http://images.zaazu.com/img/000416-medium.gif I would think it's a safety issue but maybe it's not if the bags are screened.

We shall and never will check a bag as nonrevs. Screw that.

I have no idea how you trek around with all that additional equipment anyway.... I'm in awe standing in the jetway with all that stuff piled at the door. I was a ramp rat in a previous life. I never saw stuff like that.

We just decided to leave the car seats and buy new ones at my parents and leave them there. Should've done that long ago.

Historical question for Delta South guys: Did ya'll ever do SDPs/illegals/leanovers in the past?

The closest thing I ever saw was when I was on the 73n. ATL-Tucson gone 20 hours, paid 10 always in open time. I used to pick them up a lot. Definitely a different animal than what nwa had.

It seems UGBSM was confidant he knew his stuff, and he said some DH things that made me go "whaaat?"

Sorry, just go to the DALPA website. They have a whole section on FAR117 resources. My comments were derived from my personal experience and reading Scheduling Alert 14-3. I won't reprint the whole thing here, you can read if for yourself, but here are a couple of excerpts related to my comments:

There are two sets of rules governing a pilot’s maximum time on duty: the PWA and the FARs. A great deal of communication has been disseminated regarding the new rules under FAR 117. All pilots are reminded that the PWA rules did not change upon implementation of FAR 117. PWA Sections 12 D. 1. through 12 D. 3. limit a pilot’s scheduled time on duty depending on the type of operation and the report time. Section 12 D. 4. states a pilot may not be rerouted or required to remain on duty:
• Beyond the maximum scheduled duty time in Section 12 D. 2., or
• More than two hours beyond the maximum scheduled duty time in Section 12 D. 1.
or Section 12 D. 3.

Note: The FDP ends at block in of the last flying segment in SLC. The time between the block in of the flying segment in SLC and the release from the deadhead segment in PDX is considered duty time under the PWA but is not part of the FDP. The FDP ends upon block in at SLC, and the duty time after the FDP ends is not limited by the FAR! The 15 hour PWA limit is the only factor limiting how long these pilots may be required to remain on duty while deadheading.

Interesting... I've got a guy insisting to me that his friend's dad used to do them NW style at DL on the 88 and 75/76.

Call and switch. I did.

Originally in the cookie house that's not near anything really.

Easy trade to Holiday Inn.
