Thanks everyone for the kind words.

It was a little early in the morning (my time) for such frustration, but at least there was no alcohol involved

Default Max pay while in initial--help!

Thanks Ferd.

FTB, you are a riot.

T, hope your Mom is okay.

Does anyone have gouge on max pay while in initial training? I'm finally transitioning off the Mighty 88 (senior due) and headed to the 7ER (45%ish). I've read the contract and ALPA shadow bid stuff but wonder how I can use the system to get paid the most while sitting on VA Ave.

Thanks for any help. Training starts in Sept.

I'm just asking you to be intellectually honest. You posted about how your pay isn't even back to 2004 levels, unadjusted for inflation. Yet you support all things DALPA, which by extension means you support making every excuse in the book for why we can't/shouldn't expect restoration.

You can't have it both ways. Either advocate for restoration (which means you are going to have to advocate that DALPA begin pursing that sort of objective) or don't complain about how far our pay is below 2004 levels.

I am fully aware that you and I have vastly different points of view. I just saw a glimmer of hope in that one comment you posted earlier. I guess I was mistaken. Disregard. Probably is better to just leave it at that.

Hey guys,

Also a contract question. Just had to go on STD for a medical. Should be back soon. What's the deal with currency? I couldn't find it in the PWA. How long before I have to go through training? I just turned into a pumpkin on takeoffs and landings.

Thanks!

Buzz,

Good luck - those STDs can be pesky!

Carl, I love ya dearly man, but I just fast forwarded through 5 or 6 pages of you and the ALPA nitwits duking it out over stuff that has and never will be settled. Trust me, it's you and about 3 guys vs about 3 or 4 ALPA guys.........no one else is reading it. If you haven't noticed, the participation around here is almost nil.

Here's my suggestion..........start a new thread! Call it "Latest and Worse of DALPA" or something like that.

Or, and this is my preference, tell a joke, tell a flying story or two, post some cheerleader picks (remember when you used to do that?)

Look guys, we have a bunch of new guys coming that will need "how to" help just like us NWA guys did a few years ago. We need to clear the decks for that.

JMHO,

3 take offs and landings, including cat II/III in 90 days. That's currency. If you don't maintain currency, you will need a checride, like recurrent, when you come back. Sounds like that's what you'll need. In your fleet page, pull up the training tab and look under normal requal, that will be your syllabus.

The cat 2/3 stuff is actually a 6 month currency item, but for training purposes the sim guys treat it as a 3 month item for two reasons, to make sure you get it and for FOs it counts as a landing since you are PM and required for the maneuver.

I know a Special forces medic who can take care of the STD and your flight surgeon will never know. Yeah, yeah, I know it's not an STD wink, and alcohol wasn't involved in Ferds post either....riiight.
