I'm guessing the mounting to the wall hotel walls stopped since trainees have unlimited access to the CAPT trainers.

Odd question, any of you folks put part of profit sharing into your 401k last year? I am curious at to the "header" that the payment was put under. i.e., was it just added to your own 401K payments in the left column or was there a special line added in the left part of the paycheck for a "one time" deposit?
If there was a special line, what was it titled? Thanks. |

http://i57.tinypic.com/4lkiux.jpg I like a girl who's willing to bend over backwards for you... Her eyes are closed, clearly she's dreaming of...ME! :D Or is she screaming, "Help, I've fallen and I can't get up!" I think I see the problem... I'm just here to help ma'am! Let me lift that weight off your chest. |

They don't give out posters anymore? My last school was in 2011, and I got posters. We've had unlimited access to CAPTs since before I was a noob in 2007.

I always used them for practice for the oral, but that was back when we actually took a real, live one on one oral, where the IP would point at every switch and light and ask you, "What's that one do? What's that light mean?" etc. We would buddy up and play stump the dummy, pointing at the switches and lights on the posters, for practice.
My last oral was in 2006, with a real human being asking me questions off a poster on the wall, with the FAA watching me closely (word had gotten out!). I hear all the 'orals' now are actually 100 question, multiply choice tests taken on a computer, is that right? I also heard they 'suck', because there are a lot of trick and/or poorly worded questions... |

If there was a special line, what was it titled? Thanks. There is no special header on your pay statement. It is an ordinary 401k contribution. Of course, depending on how much that contribution works out to, it can pretty much max out your 401k limit for the year. The logic for filling the 401 early in the year is getting that money to work sooner and getting the tax advantage on the investment returns earlier. |

I put all of it into the 401k. (Actually 90%. Gotta leave roughly 10% for social security taxes or they whack your next regular check. Ask me how I know)
