I was checking out the cats list. What, or who, are NBCPLA's? They are next to NBC MIL's and NBC Sic's.

I believe it's "No Base Count Personal Leave of Absence."

NBCPLA = no bid category/permissive leave of absence

I think.

I put all of it into the 401k. (Actually 90%. Gotta leave roughly 10% for social security taxes or they whack your next regular check. Ask me how I know)

There is no special header on your pay statement. It is an ordinary 401k contribution. Of course, depending on how much that contribution works out to, it can pretty much max out your 401k limit for the year.

The logic for filling the 401 early in the year is getting that money to work sooner and getting the tax advantage on the investment returns earlier.

Plus ALPA's cut, right?

Young dudes.. Read this ^^^^ again... and again.... and again.

Then go out and do it. You been eating grilled cheese and crackers for awhile. Don't jump right into Filet Mignon, it's hard on your system anyway. Get better crackers, but do what this man suggests. If you get that money working ASAP, you will reach the end of your career, and cook your Filet on burning stacks of $100s.

Yeah, you're right. With Kaplinger Kreme, we'll get it all for free.

That IS what you're saying, right? Or are you a cheap *** pilot that would have counted out pennies for the company reimbursed tip back in the day? Some on here will get that. I'm sure YOU won't.

Sitting in first..

We are going on a Europe cruise next week and bought regular tix so we wouldn't chance not getting on as non rev's. Turns out the flight we bought tx for is wide open after all, especially in BE.

Wondering what the protocol (if any) is for talking our way up to biz class? Is this even done anymore?

Thanks!

Find out who the Captain is and try a bribe!

More'n likely the A-line won't let you, nor will the gate agents.

You could sneak up there like Elaine in Seinfield.

Oh! You do NOT want seat 1B or 1C.

Ask me how I know........

Good luck. There is no protocol for this. Seeing how everything is automated these days ...

Did you buy the "Fly Confirmed," tickets? Could have saved 20%.
