Age 67?
Alright fellow APCers, I'm hanging out in Mecca for recurrent. Our DGS instructor (a good guy, BTW) just mentioned his contacts at the FAA are seriously looking at age 67. Yes, it might take a few years, and I'm NOT trying to stir the pot, but was wondering if anyone had heard similar rumors. This might tie in with the 1500 hr rule for airline pilots being revisited as well.
Anyone?? |

Can someone splain me how flying with the same pilots and fa's on the same plane all day is less efficient than what we currently do? I really don't understand.
The other reason is the flight attendants don't like long trips and the senior momma's would scream bloody murder if they took their 10 hour turns away. On my last ATL-SEA trip the FA's were on the first leg of a almost 11 hour turn. Their walkers took up all the space in the first class overheads. |
Question....If you list yourself as wanting a seat on an AE at 30%...does that mean the bottom 30% or top?

Hey new guys, I spent the first 7 years at DAL commuting and attempting to juggle family life & work. All it accomplished was 6-8 quality days off a month at home and 1 Greenslip the entire time. A year ago I gave up and moved. Best decision in my life. Feeling very good about turning down my 3rd & 4th Greenslip for the month. Have averaged 105 hours a month this year and have had more time at home than ever. Spent the last 4 days with family & the next 6 doing nothing but catching up on honey do lists & a bit if boating. More important things on life than the almighty dollar. We only go around on this planet once (that we know of).
Do yourselves & your families a favor. Move to your base as soon as you can. |
