We have different work rules which means in order for rotation construction to be optimized you can't build the same rotations. They have in the past tried tests on at least two occasions flying the same trips. One was at Song and the other on the Maddog. They decided it was not worth it.
The other reason is the flight attendants don't like long trips and the senior momma's would scream bloody murder if they took their 10 hour turns away. On my last ATL-SEA trip the FA's were on the first leg of a almost 11 hour turn. Their walkers took up all the space in the first class overheads. |

Good god, you're funny, T...just pointing out the fact that you have to also consider the money that goes toward ALPA out of your profit sharing and you go Kaplinger on me? Did you have a bad dream with him in it the night before? Wow. Dude......you're going to screw yourself in the a heart attack from that high blood pressure if you don't start relaxing just a wee bit.
Yeah you're right. It just seems that you and index and PD and Carl never miss an opportunity to put in an dALPA dig. I"ve been here long enough to see that the headliners in these kind of "get rid of dALPA" guys and those that support them are all about the dues money. They'll say differently when called on it, but usually the cornerstone of their "get rid of dALPA" campaign is lowering of dues. Mainly I just find it sad that your opinion of the guys that work for you is so low. But you're right, I should let it go. |
Anybody ever built an AR15?

That is good advice, and sometimes I wish I wasn't as close to my family and friends...but my wife and I both grew up outside Chicago and our families both still live here. I'm still close to my friends from high school, likewise for my wife. I've considered moving multiple times and know I'm losing money by not living in base but have offset that loss by starting a business that does pretty well, which allows me more time at home with kids and family, instead of chasing money.
As my parents get up there in age, I will never regret that I didn't spend enough time with them. I see them and my sisters and my in-laws several times a week. I hate commuting, and I wish it was easier, but I will commute for the rest of my life if it means working with all of you here at Delta, AND spending as much time as I do with the people I've known my whole life. That's what's important to me. YMMV. Peace, E |

Do the airplanes have different work rules than the pilots? Not every jet is being sequenced for maintenance today/tomorrow.

This summer is making me tired.
We are working too many days. Might need to shift the emphasis just a bit on this Contract 2015. More money and more time off. |
