So ALPA representation is in your universe the equivalent of "cat vomit or dog diarrhea?"

And people wonder why these message boards are held in such disdain....

Alright fellow APCers, I'm hanging out in Mecca for recurrent. Our DGS instructor (a good guy, BTW) just mentioned his contacts at the FAA are seriously looking at age 67. Yes, it might take a few years, and I'm NOT trying to stir the pot, but was wondering if anyone had heard similar rumors. This might tie in with the 1500 hr rule for airline pilots being revisited as well.

Anyone??

I've been hearing this rumor for several years now.

I say let them fly till they die if they want! But....

Once you turn 65 you must go back to the right seat and back to the bottom of the list. For everything. That means you don't get to keep your seniority for non revving or anything else. You had your chance, now it's my turn.

And now a Public Service Reminder:

If you are in your recurrent training window (Sept, Oct, Nov) go to PBS NOW and bid your sims for Sept! The bidding window opened yesterday and closes in a few days (31st?).

I always put "Avoid A and D periods", but some of you guys may like that stuff.

Yes ... and they're filling A & D periods when they used to try to avoid it. We are also using a lot of off site sims in coming months for new hires. I doubt we will see off site for recurrent, but anything is possible.

Yup. Relatively senior in category and my only bid was avoid A or D periods. Got 2 A periods anyway. Oh well.

Most guys don't know how to even bid for recurrent. The easiest thing to do is simply bid the pairings you want in the order you want. Does not take long.

Did you look at the actual pairings available. The only choices in NY and ATL are normally AA or AB. They save the others for the West bases.

We are working too many days.

Might need to shift the emphasis just a bit on this Contract 2015.

More money and more time off.

Worked the first 12 days, 81:50. Now I have a 3 week vacation.
