Why do you think Air Canada bought Embraer E-jet over more CRJs? Cheers George |

So if they tried that, we'd be buying the back at a higher price than we could get them for because their sale prices were based on the fake government backed financing that threw the false money into the sector in the first place. It would be like asking someone to get into a preconstruction Vegas condo in 2006 with a liar/ninja loan and you buying it from them when you could have got it anyway. You gain nothing but in the process of participating you've driven up your own costs in the long run. |

Alan,
You are generally one of the most level headed and objective posters on here. It amazes me how some guys get so aggressive and critical of fellow DAL Pilots - we are all on the same team, we all want the same thing. I have been attacked on here every so often - usually when another Pilot misinterprets my meaning - I guess it goes with the territory. Keep up the excellent and informative posts. Scoop :) |

As it stands now, I spend the majority of my time on here reading the first one or two sentences of a post, moving on, because its the same bs, only to find that the whole page is full of "union this vs. union that" crap. Request: Less union debate. More hot chicks, funny stories, and wide body rumors (Boeing), please. :) Here's a new rumor: Any new heavy order will come with all new flight attendants: http://heavyeditorial.files.wordpres...cd228a4-pi.jpg |

It is ridiculous for any of us to assume that a transfer of flying to a cheaper entity within Delta's core business had nothing to do with the fact they are less expensive. If you want the iron clad all encompassing scope clause, you need to work for SWA or ALK. (But I believe SWA's is in serious jeopardy.. JMHO) |

Again, I don't disagree with what you are saying but you really did not answer my question which, paraphrased, was "What penalty, other than money, do we get from the company for contract violations and how do we keep them from violating the contract anytime they want to in the future?" Oops, I guess that's 2 questions. That's fine. I don't know that there is an answer to it.

Delta is quite a ways away from being able to be "Delta" without Delta pilots, but it would appear we are bracketed on the top and bottom ends of our flying. |

ACL, you know darn well Delta is not in compliance with PWA 1.P.4:
We are now in the "cure" period and Delta has until March 31, 2015 to come into compliance as mentioned in 1.P.6:

I won't argue that point at all. But if it weren't for those other entities, Delta would not be the global power it is. So it is up to them to make themselves "more expensive". It is simply not practical for us to serve all markets into which we now have reach. It is extremely naive to believe otherwise. So we need to strike the balance. I agree that the JV flying is out of whack (or will be) and (sorry ACL) to say that it currently is not out of compliance while true, is legalese that is just silly. Anyone with a pulse that is remotely paying attention knows that it WILL be when the time comes. And like most on here, I believe we should be made whole. Now... how do we do that without "selling" jobs?
If you want the iron clad all encompassing scope clause, you need to work for SWA or ALK. (But I believe SWA's is in serious jeopardy.. JMHO) SWA needs only the right management, back office systems and procedures. Richard Anderson's team could do wonders with that place. T, the answer is easy enough. Force Delta to staff our share, whether or not we perform it. Pilots move up the stove pipe and get paid; Delta loses the financial interest to engage in illegal self-help. I find it interesting that if I engage in blatant self-help, I would be fired. When management does it, we talk and maybe exchange some percentage of the actual harm caused. Yes, I understand it was inconvenient to comply with our Contract, but how would Delta respond if we acted in similar fashion and stated, "you know with Ebola, terrorists blowing things up and Malaria; we just don't find that back to back red eye trip that duties in after 22:00 just to cheat us out of a day's pay to be an appealing place to do business in." There is a ridiculous double standard. If I'm ever President of ALPA, I'm going to kill the RLA, or die tryin. |
