I'm confused. If you take 4 747's out of the mix(park) and move other aircraft from Europe to the Pacific, how do you increase European International flying by 3% over what it is now with no other widebodies?

Where is the letter/memo saying we will increase European flying by 3%?

It's on the news page. But it doesn't say Delta will grow by 3%. It says the "combined JV trans-Atlantic network" will grow by 3%.

But Hauenstein's memo says we are reducing capacity:

"In the next few months, reductions to capacity in the Atlantic will free up B777-200ERs and 767-300s, allowing us to deploy these aircraft to the Pacific. As a result of the availability of these smaller-gauged aircraft, we will retire four less-efficient B747-400 aircraft sooner than planned."

A 25% reduction means -53.5 A's and -59 B's; a loss of 112.5 top paying jobs.

I don't think an early retirement program is going to draw out 54 Capts. and 59 F/O's.

On DL Net you should read the 747 memo, as well as the Q+A's (link at bottom of story) about the sudden parking of 4 whales, and who's going to fly what/where.

Seems they are going to pull some 777's/A330's (Delta's jets) off the Atlantic routes and use them to cover the parked 747 flying in the Pacific. Guess who's going to pick up the Atlantic flying? Our JV partners. That's what they said...

So, how's that JV Compliance grievance coming?
Even more important is to remember that the company will be using our JV partners to pick up this Atlantic flying during the cure period of our scope's Atlantic JV section. Not only no attempt to cure our current imbalance, but a public in your face statement that they are going to make it worse during the cure period.

Constructive engagement baby!

Oooooooh Mr Kotter... I'm pizzed..... dALPA should complain. Respond....

Just like Demi Moore. I strenuously object.
Tsquare perfectly encapsulates the DALPA thought process. "What do you want from us? A complaint? A response?"

You're against a complaint or even a response tsquare. What do you care? After all, we just don't get it.

Problem solved.

Look at history. Our scope clause is written in pencil.
This right here.

Or a phrase tossed around when race is forced in everyone's face for anything and everything 24/7 until it becomes a political and moral imperitive for very specific partisan politics. But you knew that.

Its easy bait to take though, on all sides of every issue. Which is why so many hooks are baited with it in the first place.
