I think they set up an information table in the ATL lounge a few years back (Wow, has it been that long) trying to get guys to fill out cards and they had a few boxes of doughnuts out for passersby.

I guess pizza gets you 2% but doughnuts gets you ridicule.

Disclaimer: I am not a DPA supporter, but without a healthy C2015, I can't guarantee that I'll be a DALPA supporter either.

Well, they do lead the league in number of guys arrested. Which is saying a lot these days. ;)

That can only be partially true at best. Even if he did exactly that, that would be an Inverse Assignment with Conflict, which would pay pay and credit for the trip dropped, and pay/no credit for the trip flown. Still a great deal, but not triple pay.

I probably screwed up the story anyway.

Doesn't Inverse Assignment pay 200% on days off?

I've got a 49 hour layover in AMS next week. Anyone ever took the train over to Bastogne for the day? Plan B is maybe a "bridge too far/hells highway" kind of thing if Bastogne is too hard to do.

Thanks,
Fred

Very jealous! I had a 4 day Brussels few years ago and did my homework...was gonna see all three museums, Bastogne, Malmody, whole 9 yards. We landed only to find out there was a transportation strike. Please share your photos when you get home. Cheers H

I think that it arose out of necessity to talk about them on the former dALPA website forums. If you typed in "DPA", the bot would star it out (***). But they couldn't very well set doughnuts to be excluded. I could be wrong though.

Saw a snippet of an article that says the EX-IM bank funding is being piggy-backed (typical cowardly/politician act) in the House bill providing support for syrian rebels/fight against isis.

May be a good time to make more phone calls or letters.

Correct. Essentially an IA pays like a GS, except for the fact that you didn't ask for it, but instead the company "reached out and touched someone"...particularly, the pilot getting the IA.

One mollifying tenet of an IA is that it pays double pay, no credit regardless of any other flying that you may or may not have flown for the month. A GS only pays double if all the rest of your flying has made it to the GS trigger.

That is the least the company can do when they IA you, which is forcing you to fly on days off when you didn't volunteer to do so.

Normally I'd agree with you however I think the pilot group already sent a rather unambiguous opinion to the MEC reference CDO's on the 117 TA, and the MEC responded.

Now we're asking the question again until we get the answer we want? Who wants?
