Exactly! Like this Jonathan Gruber non-story that no one else is covering.

So when does the latest AE drop? Rumor is tommorow?? I'm a NH in the 74 person class that just started. Hopefully there is a chance to move west!

Ha...now we have a DeltaNet article about how we are the highest paid in the industry and the American guys want to be paid like us. I think this may be the first time RA has a fight to get a contract done on time.
Do any of your friends include bonus money or profit sharing in the amount they get paid? I ask my friends in other industries what they make and they always tell me that bonus money and profit sharing is not considered income. Why should we be any different? |

Hey quick question, those of you that are recommending people are you doing the email AND the airline apps rec or is that looked down upon?
I'd answer you, but then I'd be wrong and get called out for it. It's been awhile (hear that Boomer), but you use your delta email account and somehow it links with the airline apps. I think you have to give your dal email to the person you are recommending, and they input it somewhere on air app, then you get a template that is the rec letter to dal and air apps...if memory serves. |

ASAPs are driving these changes.
No matter how well intentioned, procedures and callouts need to be streamlined to make compliance achievable. If they are so numerous that even pilots who want to comply can't get it all correct, it can lead to people throwing up their hands in frustration and stop even trying to comply. If the average line pilot can't get the procedures and callouts correct on a line check, it's probably not the fault of the line pilot. Carl |

Well, I can solve the BOD's problem. If they have a problem with large profit sharing payouts and can't stand Wall Street's pressure, they need to prepare themselves to write some pretty massive paychecks. They aren't going to get their cake and eat it, too. Let's start with 25% and go from there. I can think of all kinds of creative ways to help them with their dilemma.

So if you earned $1 million in PS you wouldn't consider that income? The IRS would beg to differ.
Why should we all be trained to figure our hourly rates should be less because we get profit sharing? |

Why are we doing this anyway? What's wrong with signing it in the cockpit? On a related note, is it just me or are we drifting towards checking, verifying and confirming EVERYTHING in the cockpit?!?!?!?!?!? My last 2 F/O's (one a new hire) asked me "how's this look" on a simple speed change in the FMS! And do we need to verify a runway extension?(it's not moving the jet!) Sure seems like we're getting overly "cautious" and slipping to a VERY rigid cockpit. S acronym's anyone:(
