I would take the engine change crew out drinking so they are so hungover they have to skip working a day and let the 1 for 3.5 work it's magic on the GS.
The closest I have come to that was getting a 6 day trip bought by a 4th floor type. He then no showed the trip and I got it back on a GS. Sadly it was at copilot rates but for some reason flying at triple pay made it a very enjoyable trip!

I would but I don't know where they are staying!:). The even better thing is: all three of us are on regular line greenslips...

We all got called on the 14th with less than two and a half hours to make a DH flight to NRT. The flight waited 10 minutes for one of us and still made it in 20 or so minutes early. Offline DH up to Sapporo and here we sit!:D

Since the topic of big bucks is current, anybody notice DeltaNet has noticed. AA vs. DAL pay.... Atta boy, corporate communications get the ball rolling.

Only works for 3-5 years then the IRS will be all over you for not turning a profit. Unless you have employees and are running a legit business to just lose money to offset your airline taxes (which is usually harder than just paying taxes in the first place) the IRS will turn your small "side" business into a hobby and you lose all the deductions.

Trick is to have 2 LLC's so that for the three years the one is not making money, the other one can be profitable. then switch them up so you always have profitable years at least every 3-5 for each LLC.

Easiest way though is to donate to charity. Helps you reduce your taxes, helps a charitable cause, doesn't help the government. Everyone wins. :)

Aren't you a new hire? There are FOs here who have been unstacked for holidays for the better part of a decade.

Or do you feel entitled to get your first Chrismas at Delta off?

I got my first two off in 07-08. Worked all of them since until this year.

Denny,

As you know, I'm also approaching the 400k mark this year... If you've got some ideas about holding on to the money, I'd love a PM as well.

I saw one newhire is working back to back to back to almost back trips over christmas, I think on the ER. It's something like 15 days in with one day off. Welcome to Delta and part 117. :)
