Aren't you a new hire? There are FOs here who have been unstacked for holidays for the better part of a decade.
Or do you feel entitled to get your first Chrismas at Delta off? Yes, a new hire. Yes, I feel for anyone (myself or otherwise) facing a decade of unstacking--and, in general, unstacking sucks no matter who you are or what month it is. No, I did not expect to get Christmas off--in fact, I specifically bid trying to get a manageable trip over Christmas. What I wasn't expecting (and had [attempted to] carefully bid to avoid happening) was 11 days on in a row (4-3-4) covering Christmas Day and the weeks before & after. It is what it is, and a quick look at the "Wide" report shows that I'm hardly alone; I'm not complaining that I somehow got screwed. That said, I don't have to like it and reserve the right to vent about that displeasure. Entitlement does not enter into it. (But, thanks for asking!)

I saw one newhire is working back to back to back to almost back trips over christmas, I think on the ER. It's something like 15 days in with one day off. Welcome to Delta and part 117.

Lol! At least you have a bed that isn't as hard as a rock a pillow that isn't filled with some type of recycled grain husk!:) (I'm not kidding about either one) Mind you, I'm not complaing, just telling it like it is! :)
Denny How was the Sapporo tour? What time does the jet lag club open? It is only 0830, but I have been up since 2am listening to the 9er game. :D |

I've had a farm for a number of years now. It is generally good for 70k right off the top without using the section 179 expense. Section 179 maxes out at an annual ~$180k/yr. in itself. I don't live there any more, but keep it for the tax benefit. The schedule f (farm) is powerful. It gets you depreciation, section 179, related fuel, oil, tools etc.
It takes about a year to be recognized by your state as a farm once you get the ball rolling. There is a minimum acreage size and a minimum acreage for the farmed product. Front page write downs on the 1040 is how you limit your tax liability. The acreage could be swampland at $500/acre, but gives you the same tax benefit as a vineyard in Napa. The above is not investment or tax advice. Dyodd I've got a huge Aqua-Culture Fish Farm right in my back yard! I'm also raising frogs, turtles, water moccasins and alligators. I've got to get ahold of that Form F and start writing off my expenses for running this aqua-culture farm! You know, like the catamaran I use to go out and count the frogs and turtles, and the bass boat I use to keep track of the fish, and I think I could use a float plane to get a better look at the alligators! ;) |
